Engine shuts off. Battery disconnected then reconnected. Engine restarts. Why?

Unfortunately for you, it kind of sounds like a computer problem. Disconnecting the battery then reconnecting it will reset the computer on most newer vehicles. I recommend having the comp looked at sometime soon, before you're stuck on the side of the road somewhere. Sorry I don't have better advice, Grim

My headlights, tail lights, and console lights will not turn off. I have a 2007 Kia Optima. I am thinking a possible headlight switch or fuse issue? I tried disconnecting the battery and reconnecting it....

This could be either the clock spring in the steering column or it could be the body control module. The BCM. They are about 80 dollars USED.

Engine won t shut off

Poor ignition switch .Replace it and check for the blown fuses & your problem will disappear .As ignition controls the current to ECU so if the ignition will still be transmitting the voltage to ecu with the key turned off so how will a engine shutoff? think it's logical. You have been tricked by mechanic as it's not the computer fault at all.

Lexus ls 400 1996 flat batteriy ok now but security light on found away to start the car but every time i turn the key off securty light comes back on

FLAT batterY?? Battery OK,now? New one? Old one OK?HUH?
Get security codes FIRST: radio and NAV.
Disconnect battery from car and wait for 30 seconds and turn on the headlight switch,DURING the battery disconnect.
Turn off the headlights and reconnect the battery.
the security system should "re-boot" and be happy.
then there is the radio issue, Get the code.....
