Question about 2000 Jaguar S-Type

I have a brake pedal judder at low speed, it only starts at under 40 miles per hour,no ABS light comes on and the car has just passed an MOT but I still want to know what it is, any ideas?

Does this wobble the steering wheel or your seat? The difference is very important. If it shakes the steering wheel, you have warped front rotors. If it's more through the car and seats, rear rotors are warped. Let me know please.

WHY DOES THE TCS LIGHT COME ON


Rear wheel sensor issue most likly the issue metal flakes on the sensor causeing the computer to think car is in a lost traction condition there fore retarding motor speed to slow car down to a safer speed to regain traction without applying brakes usuall need to remove sensor an clean with a soft bristle tooth brush to remove metal glakes on the speed sensor. Usually there are two on rear axle an two abs sensors in front both have to match rotation speeds if one sensor is off by a fraction it senses the car is hoing into a wheel spin condition or low inflation in one tire in the rear if pass sidebtire is low on air pressure it will throw of the amount of revolutions per min ratio left at 65 miles an hour 6300 rpm right side at recc air pressre 6500 rpm per min 200 rpm difference tricks computer your in a wheel spin
have sensors checked for metal debri or dirty sensor may have a broken wire or dirty

What causes brakes judder


Unplug the harness plug to the ABS module under the hood and see if shuddering stops. You will still have an ABS light on the dash but it should not effect normal braking. If shuddering stops the ABS module is bad, also check for any kinked brake lines resulting from accident. Be careful when working with brakes, no excessive speed and be ready to apply hand brake.

Car wont pass 40 miles per hour


If the check engine light does not come on, runs ok at low engine load and low speeds, but falls on its face under heavy load and faster road speeds, I would have to say that the fuel filter is the most common culprit of your problem. Generally, it needs to be replaced at least every 30,000 miles, but that is just a rule of thumb. They can be clogged at any mileage, causing fuel flow to be restricted to the engine.

Volkswagon bora 130 tdi is juddering with asr light coming on and staying on bit like changing gear at low revs but it does go not away unless turn car off and start again or turn asr off before driving...


asr works in conjunction with abs.to stop a wheel it(the car)thinks is loosing grip, from spinning.By applying the brakes to the wheel that is loosing grip,so the car is applying the brake. hence the juddering. if it stops when you turn it (asr)off it must be a sensor fault.easy way is to plug in the diagnostic computer to pinpoint faulty unit. if you dont drive very enthusiastically,then turn asr off until next mot/service.get back if you need any more info ....

The brake seems to function by itself whenever i take a cruise


have abs sensor tested -some times if sensor gets corrosion or wiring connection problem-the abs activates in low speed usually under 10 miles an hour

Abs light, overdrive light comes on at the same time


ABS has got to do with the braking system while the overdrive is meant for activation of the auxilliary/ extra speed gear when driving over 60 miles per hour.

I will advice you run a scan on the car.

ABS light on, return pump runs, difficult to stop


is the abs going off when this happens? were the mounting surfaces cleaned when speed sensors were cleaned because corrosion can will lift the sensor and make the air gap for the sensor wrong. if this is what is going on usally the abs will go off as you are coming to a final stop 5 miles per hour or so. i hope this im understanding you right and i hope this helps.
