Lubricate the crossheads and push rod sockets and install the rocker arms and pedestals in their original loca-
tions. Tighten bolts to 36 N·m (27 ft. lbs.) torque.

Don't forget to adjust your valve lash.

I was quoted $500 to replace all the lifters. Is this a good price?

That is a ridiculously high price to replace lifters on a 4 or 6 cylinder engine. On the Mitsubishi 4 cylinder motor, the only thing that is needed to do is remove the valve cover and remove the rocker rod. (2 rods which hold the rocker assembly.) Next is remove the lifters from the bottoms of the rockers and pop in the new ones. Be sure to soak the new lifters in oil for 24-48hrs prior to install so they are pre-filled before install. Replace the rocker assembly and torque down to specs. replace valve cover and then start the vehicle. Check that there is no loud tapping noise and do not race the engine until the lifters have pumped up with engine oil. You should replace oil and filter for this engine work as well.

Rocker arms

simply the rockers are on a shaft as a assy. you set them down in place over the valve and the lifter put the retainers and bolts in then step torque them down from the center bolts out do it in a few steps to make sure they are seated properly then torque to spec.

I need the torque specs for my rocker arm and push rods i cant find them any were on the internet

THERE IS NO TORQUE SPEC FOR HYDROLIQUE LIFTERS
YOU ADJUST VALVES PER SPECIFICATION USUALLY
TIGHTEN UNTIL NO FREEPLAY BETWEEN LIFTER AND PUSHROD
THEN 1/2 OR 3/4 TURN MORE SO HYDROLIQUE LIFTER CAN PUMP
OIL UP THE PUSHROD TO LUBRICATE TOP END
LOOK UP SPEC TO BE SHURE OF FINAL TURN

I need the engine valve spec for a 1984 chevy 6.2 diesel. We are adjusting the valves.

VALVE ADJUSTMENTS All gasoline and diesel engines in this guide use hydraulic valve lifters, which require no periodic maintenance or adjustment. However, in the event of cylinder head removal or any operation that requires disturbing or removing the rocker arms, the rocker arms must be adjusted in order to position the pushrods to allow the hydraulic lifters to maintain zero lash. Refer to the valve lash adjustment procedure under Rocker Arms, earlier in this Section.

I need the torque specs for the exhaust manifold on a 2000 Chev Venture van engine size 3400 and... valve lifters @ t.d.c.

The torque for the exhaust manifold bolts is 12 ft. lbs. The rocker arms are to be torqued to 14 ft. lbs. first then turned an additional 30 degrees. Sounds kind of odd but that's how they tighten the rocker bolts properly.

New rebuild valves sounds like there knocking

the rocker arms must be tightend at a neutral position in the motors rotation to prevent valve to piston clearance problems.
on v8 turn the engine by hand until the v8 mark on the dampner lines up to the tdc or zero mark,do not rotate the engine until done
bolt down the rockers then allow 5 min for the hydraulic lifters to bleed down ,then torque the rocker bolts to 200 in-lbs as the rockerss are tightned make sure the pushrods seat properly in the lifter.
