Question about 2003 Ford Explorer

1 Answer

I just changed the fuel filter on my 2003 Ford Explorer. I went to turn it on an it is not turning over. I just got back from getting a new batter (which was bad) but now I have power but it sounds like the fuel is not getting to the right place. It turns over but not on. Please advise.

Why did you replace filter? Was it clogged? can ck by blowing through it...little to no restriction.
Ck all fuses..remove one side of fuel line to filter ...crank a short burst SHORT and see if ANY fuel is going to filter...may be pump is bad!?

I have a 94 ford explorer 4.0 that turns over but wont start. i have spark at the wire and 38 lbs of fuel at the rail! what else can i do?

Did you change the fuel 8 dollar fuel filter in the back under the truck? You should fuel rails usually are not a problem ever in a bigger ford lincoln, Did you check all relays, locating the fuel shut off relay? why i ask, is when you turn the key to the point beofre start the ford goes wheeee, and thats the fuel pump priming its self, if you dont hear that you need to check your fuses, then locate the relay that controls that, ten dont get a new relay, just carfully crack the out side of it off, because its a little magnetic electical switch inside the relay which you can just push on to see if that is the problem, before you buy a new relay, its free.

I have an '04 Explorer Sport Trac. When my girlfriend went to start it today she said "check fuel pump" popped up on the screen then it died and wont crank back up. Any suggestions?

seperate the fuel line at the fuel injecter, turn the engine over if fuel comes out , more than likely it is not the pump, if you get no fuel, change the filter, try again, if no fuel most fuel pumps today are in the tank, drop tank change pump

1989 ford f-150 not starting, new plugs wires, turns over, no start, maybe unburned fuel?

If it turns over the problem is either the spark plugs or the fuel filter or fuel pump. Begin by checking the spark plugs and changing the fuel filter.
