I need the parts shown for a 2003 Ford Explorer XLT 4WD front hub assy. I want to make sure I'm not missing any bolts, nuts, or washers.

Can the wheel bearings on a 1998 Ford Explorer be greased?


  • On 4x2 vehicles, adjust the front wheel bearings
  • On 4x4 vehicles, install a new wheel hub (1104).
  • So: yes on 2WD, No on 4WD

Replace front right wheel bearing


This is a hub and bearing assy. You will need to remove the axle nut, brake rotor, caliper assy. There are 3 or 4 bolts that attach the hub assy to the knuckle assy. Most of the time, the hub assy will come out easy and sometime it comes out very hard. Make sure you torque the axle nut to the proper spec, so the bering will not fall apart and will last. Buy a quality hub and bearing assy, so you dont have to do it again.

How do I replace drivers side front axle on a 2003 Ford Escape ?


remove the right front wheel. remove the axle nut. remove the ball joint bolt and nut. remove the ball joint from the knuckle. drive the axle out of the hub. remove the 2 carrier bearing nuts. pull the axle out. make sure you torque all bolts and nuts.

F150 4wd 2001 left front bearing is out. How do I r/r this part and how do I seal new boot to axle


the bearing comes as a hub assembly, there is nothing to seal, the hub assy is held in by 3 or4 bolts

I need the torque specs for the 4 hus assy bolts and the 2 caliper bracket bolts on a 2004 dodge 2500 4wd...do you have them?


Caliper Bolts Torque ...... 24 ft. lbs
Hub/Bearing Bolt ........... 122 ft. lbs
Hub/Bearing Nut ............ 180 ft. lbs

How do i change the driver side front hub assembly


The vehicle will need to raised on the left (drivers) side and supported. Remove the tire, then the brake caliper assy. Remove the rotor, then remove the axle nut located in the center of the hub assy. Remove the hub/bearing retaining bolts, and then the hub assy. Some times it is corroded into the steering knuckle assy. and will not seem to come out. If this happens, install the axle nut, and wearing safety glasses, pound onto the hub flange from the inside to the outside, until it comes out of the knuckle assy. Then remove the hub assy. Clean the knuckle hole where the bearing with 120 grit sand paper, so the hub/bearing assy will go into the knuckle without damage. Torque the axle nut to specs. Clean the inside of the rotor, where the hub meets it, so it sits flat against the new hub. Install the rotor, caliper assy. Install the wheel and torque the lug nuts to 100 ft pounds. Road test about 5 miles and recheck the lug nuts.

4wd not engaging no indicater lgt basicaly no 4wd


I had a prolem with my 1998 Ford Explorer XLT. The 4wd indicator light would randomly start to blink while moving and when I flipped the switch to 4wd hi or low it would engage but easily disengage and the indicator lights would not come on. I was hearing a grinding sound coming from my hubs so I replaced both front hub assemblies and the light stopped blinking and 4wd hi/low works great now. it was about 300 bucks for the hub assemblies and only took me an hour or two to change.
