Put freon in now not cooling

was compressor running prior to putting in freon --to much freon acts the same as to little freon no cooling --but if compressor not coming on than look into fuses and relays as source of problem

Were able to fill the a/c with freon but it would run out in a day or two. Tried putting stop seal in it, but the freon cylinder wouldn't puncture, so we could not put freon in right away like it...

The system at this point is shot. The dryer is contaminated with oil and will not function correctly even if the leak were sealed. The system will have to be evacuated , flushed and leak tested, repaired and recharged.

2004 jeep grand cherokee a/c compressor clutch cycles on and off. a/c works fine when clutch is engaged.

Hi,
Looks like the a/c compressors relay is malfunctioning. Replace the relay with a similar one.
Hope that helps you out!

I have a Dodge Ram 2500 Hemi and the Air Condition cools only when the truck is moving but does not cool when the truck is idling

could be low on freon, and it might just need to have the front of the truck cleaned with a hose (cleaning the condensor with a hose if it is blocked up with dirt and bugs/dust). Dirt greatly affects the efficency of the system, and also check on the radiator fan to see if it is running at idle with the air on.

How do i put freon in my 2006 lincoln zephyr?

best bet is to verify thats your problem first. Have a shop check it for you. If it doesnt need freon and you add some you will create other issues. Also if you actually lost freon on a car this new then you have a leak somewhere. Anything you do will just cause more freon to leak into the atmosphere which is a major no no in the Automobile industry. If we released freon we would loose our licence.

Have a 2000 vw bug a/c blowing hot air bought a home kit to fill it and when i put the gauge on it spun the needle all the way around. need to know what that means

Check to see if A/C clutch is engaging. If it is not engaging, the compressor is not starting which will prevent the freon from being sucked into the system.

Look at the front of the ac compressor and have someone turn on the ac from inside the car. The front of the pulley(clutch) will spin when turned on.

If it does not spin, the low pressure switch (LPS) is not satisfied. Meaning there is not enough freon in the system to operate the system. Probably means a significant leak.

The LPS can be jumpered to cause the compressor to run (clutch to engaged) which will draw the freon in the system.

The LPS is usually a two wire sensor on the suction of the compressor. (between evaporator and compressor) Unplug the sensor and install a jumper, this will engage the clutch.

However, if it is empty the leak must be repaired.

The capacity of the ac system will be on a label under the hood, do not overfill. Probably about 2 lbs. Local parts stores (Auto Zone and Advance) will have freon with stop leak. This may help the leak. They also make a freon with a UV dye. I always add a single can with dye so that if stop leak does not work I can find the leak in the future.

The system should be filled until suction pressure is about 36 psi.

A/C Doesn't run at idle, have to be moving

The condenser is clogged with bugs and dirt. (the silver one that looks like a radiator in front of the radiator) or your just low on freon.

My Ac keep losing Freon with no visable leaks, Just filled eight weeks ago and is blowing warm air already.

Did you put some freon oil in it or a can of stop leak. A lot of times freon will leak from the o rings. If you just add freon and no oil it will slowly leak out. Add about 4 ounces of oil and then your freon. Let the car run w/ac on for about 30 minutes. This should work.

Freon leak in line lincoln continental 97

use 134A and you can put it in your self.. Just pay attention Only instal freon in the low side of your system.. low side is always the larger hose ... Got that ? larger .. small hose is high side is not not the place to put it in .. Find your largest air conditioner hose and follow it out till you find a port to put in freon .. which you can buy it and the hose at a walmart store..they do make a sealant also that will sometimes slow the loss of freon.. let me know if you need more.. jerry
