Under dash, behind plastic panels, between center of vechile and glove box on firewall. Brake computer is inside engine bay, usually on drivers side wheel well.

As far as i know you cannot ,some vehicles i have bypassed a big transistor in the computer which controlled the earth return ,but this one iam not sure about as never done one to be honest you may be better off getting the chip from the key and a transponder and computer from a scrapper and just change the lot .Sorry i cannot be of much help here or bite the bullet and have taken to a dealer to be re-programmed

This transmission goes into failsafe ( 2nd gear) if the computer detects any problem , even a minor one. Need to have codes pulled.

Sounds like it could possibly be time for a simple tune up. Spark plugs, Plug wires are sometimes the easiest fix.

How to change the rear spark plugs of a 96 plymouth voyager


The engine plenum will have to be removed. This is what the air goes thru to get to the engine intake. Remove ground, mark tag remove required cable, wires and hoses, take digital photos as you go. Be patient. The good news is we don't have to change them every 20K miles.

trans is shot very common problem you can rebuid it but thats not cheap finding a used one will be very difficult as 96 is a one year only model and there where 2 within that year depending on the buid date of the van
