Hello and welcome. the oil pressure sensor is mounted on the drivers side of engine, top side, behind the intake manifold. kinda hard to find. you will have to look down between the back side of engine and firewall to see it. it is threaded into the block

I have a 2003 Chevy 1500hd Silverado and the reduce engine power comes up on dash and I lose all power after I turn off and on a couple of times and it works again whats is the problem and how I fix it....


try disconnecting the battery for 5 minutes to reset the complete system. a few different things cause the reduced power to activate, oil pressure, coolant temp, traction control. I use my snap-on MT2500 to locate these types of problems

The sensor should be near the distributor on the back of the intake.

I have a 2005 Silverado 5.3 L, the oil pressure gauge is pegged. When the engine is not running is goes back to 80.


i want you to do this , UN connect the oil pressure switch and let me know if this way can fix your gauge problem .

The oil pressure sensor is located on the side of the oil pan and actually reads pressure from the oil pump.

I have a 2003 chevy 1500hd. It's been idling rough and periodically stalling. I replaced the fuel filter and freshened up my K&N filter with a filter charge kit. It idles smoother now, but still low...

Hello rustenhess_2: My name is Roger and i will help you. You will locate the oil pressure switch at the rear of the engine. Just to the right of the distributor. My 2005 Chevy 1500HD when cold there is no oil pressure accoring to the gauge. But after a few minutes of running and then a restart of the engine the oil pressure is bake to normal.


most likely the problem is the oil pressure sending unit or the oil passage to the sending unit is partially plugged, that is unlikely, I would replace the sending unit 1st.

2003 1500HD Crew Cab - Compressor stopped working


the ac system has a low pressure switch when the unit is low on freon the compressor wont work . this is to keep the compressor from burning up. have your freon level checked.
