Question about 2000 Pontiac Grand Am GT

1 Answer

I was going about 60mph down a county road today and noticed that my car seemed to intermittently have this sort of slight jerk to it. It almost seems like it has something to do with the flow of the fuel. The rpm's seem to jump for a second and then come back down. What is causing this?

Why is my 2005 dodge neon sxt automatic significantly jerking at 60 mph?

You have an intermittent problem, and it's probably going to be horribly difficult to track down. Your best bet might be to borrow an OBDII scan tool so you can read the codes while the problem is happening.

That mechanic who visually inspected your camshaft position sensor apparently doesn't understand that the sensor can LOOK just FINE while at the same time it's as dead as a doornail. You might try having that one sensor replaced, just to be sure.

2005 Dodge Stratus jerks at 2500 rpm and wont drive over 60mph. if you try to go over 60' it jerks.

You have an issue with fuel delivery, once the car gets to 60mph the car will not get the required amount of fuel to go faster.
Check the fuel pump and the fuel injector rail pressure, you might need a new fuel pressure regulator.

The one thing you did not mention that I needed to do to remove the Hum was 4 wheel alignment. Smooth and quiet now. Hope that helps and have a great day.

I have a 2000 Grand Jeep Cherokee, I was driving along the freeway maybe doing about 60mph when my jeep suddenly jerked, when it did this my emissions light came on. I pulled over in a parking lot checked all my fluids oil, transmission fluid, everything seemed okay, as I was getting back on the freeway I watched the R PMs that was fine and my emission light went off. After driving for about 5 minutes it did it again and my emissions light came back on, I did notice this time it seemed to be in the rear where this Jerking/ Bucking came from can anyone help??? PLEASE
