Hi, it's like the 2003, which I believe it is, it's under the plenum cover (underneath the windshield washers). See the following threads on the TDIclub site:

03 sprinter with glow plug light on

to test a glow plug you connect a jumper lead to the positive terminal and put the body on the negative terminal of the battery
If they are good the element will glow red to white is seconds
Brand is immaterial-- no glow = no good

Check thefuses and wiring of the glow plug circuit. check for corrosion on any of the contacts and while there, check each one with an ohm meter to make sure none have burned out.

what you need to do is add some sulfur additive to the fuel to build the viscosity rateing and also check the glow plug realy itselfs to make sure when it fires that voltage is actaully getting to the glow plugs

Hard coldd start.

On a 7.3 you have to take off the valve cover to test the glow plugs disconnect the wires from each glow plug and take a single wire run it from the positive pole of the battery and touch the tip of the glow plug. If it sparks it is good and if not it is bad. do this one by one. I have almost the same problem but mine is the icp above desired and here in belize nobody knows about 7.3.
