Question about Acura Legend
That is the shift lock release. Under normal circumstances you must turn the ignition on and depress the brake pedal in order to get the transmission out of Park. If for some reason the vehicle will not come out of park due to a fault in the system it can be overridden with this lock. Simply insert your ignition key into the slot and press down. You can then push the button on the side of the shift lever and move the shift lever out of park. This is all listed in your owner's manual which you must not have.
