There is a clip with holds the handle in place. You can purchase an inexpensive special tool to remove the clip from an auto parts store. Or you can use the alternative method when you cannot find the dang tool in the garage. Take a shop towel and fold it in half. Slide the folded shop towel between the window crank and plastic spacer stretching the towel tight in the opposite direction you inserted the towel. Grasp the two ends of the towel with one hand pulling the towel in the opposite direction in was inserted and gently pulling the window crank outward with the other hand. If the clip is not releasing try pulling and rotating the towel around the shaft while pulling outward on the window crank. Do not lose the clip which also can be purchased at the auto parts store.

The inner handles are held on by a spring clip that captures the shaft of the window regulator to the handle.
most parts houses have a tool to remove the clip without damage to the door panel or handle.

You would have to disconnect the glass and remove the power regulators, and replace the regulators with manual ones. Then drill holes in the door panels for the window crank handles.
Then the regulators and tracks would need to be adjusted.

Remove a crank car window handle

Get hold of a clean shop towel (one thats not too plush) slide it up in behind the window handle and slide it back and forth (sawing motion) all around the handle until it releases the 'c clip' holding the handle on the door. Caution dont lose the clip!

1991 oldsmobile cutlass supreme drivers side window keeps coming out of track, how do I fix

generally the door panel has to come off. With the panel removed you can see the tracks. There is an adjustment for each track, and you can observe the action of the window in the track as you operate the window. slacken both track adjustment bolts if fitted, operate the window untill fully up, tighten each adj bolt and operate the window through the cycle. Make any further adjustments as needed. When correct install the door panel, and recheck the operation of the window.

Good luck.

How do I remove the door panel on my 1996 Olds. Cutlass Suprene 2-door sedan??

If you have power windows and door locks, take a small flat-tip screw driver, and gently pry up the switches. Unplug them. If not power, The auto parts store have a window handle removal tool. Remove the handle. Then unscrew the door lock at the top right corner of the door. Unscrew the door handle. Screws are located under the handle. If you have the pull strap, remove the covers with a screw driver. covers are at both ends of the strap. The auto parts store also sells a door panel removal tool. put that between metal and plastic cover a gently pry. it will pop the clips loose. Take your time and be gentle. after popped loose. gently tap up from the bottom. this will get it to release the clip from the frame by the window. Hope this helps.

Trying to find the engine control module for 1991 olds cutlass siera sl

The ECM is located right behind the glove box. First remove the negative (-) battery cable. Then remove the front of your glove box, just a few small screws. The interior of the glove box is cardboard and will pull out after removal of screws. Then unplug the 3 electrical plugs and let them hang out of the way. Now, remove the bolts on the side of the bracket holding the ECM IN.

Window dropped into door in 1990 cutlass calais

The temporary quick fix is to **** the window up and have a helper jam in wooden wedges inside the car, between the bottom of the window and the door slot. That will buy you some time, but won't solve your problem. The interior door panel will need to be removed and the window regulator assembly replaced. You will need a special forked tool for prying the door panel off, as well as new plastic fasteners. The old ones cannot be reused. If you want to tackle this job, first invest in a shop manual for your car, then the special pry bar (available at most auto parts stores), and new fasteners. (Count them after you remove the panel). Then remove the inner seal/sound deadener material and set aside. When you do the deed, be very careful not to cut yourself. The inner door skin has very sharp edges around the access holes. Locate and remove the nuts that secure the window regulator assembly to the inner door skin, then work it out through the largest access hole. A new window regulator is available through any GM dealer's parts counter. Reinstall in reverse order. Good luck.

Passengers side rear view mirro replacement

On the inside trim, you can remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge. Then you'll need to manipulate the panel and disconnect the door handle linkage from the door handle and disconnect the wiring for your controls. Then you can access the bolts that secure the mirror onto the door
