1996 Buick Rivera passengers side AC blows cold and drivers blows hot whats the probable causes?

IM NOT A 100% POSITIVE BUT I BELIEVE THE PROBLEM LIES IN THE PANEL BELOW THE STEERING WHEEL TO ACESS IT YOU HAVE TO REMOVE BOTH PASS AND DRIVER KICK PANELS, THEN THERE WILL BE A BOLT ON EACH SIDE COVER OF THE DASH UNDER THE KICK PANELS. GENTLY PULL ON THE COVERS AND THEY WILL COME OFF EXPOSING BOLTS FOR THE DASH TRIM. IF YOU AND SOMEONE ELSE PULL ON THE DASH TRIM YOU WILL POPPED THE CLIPS THAT HOLD IT DOWN. AT THIS POINT YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO SNEAK A SWIVEL SOCKET IN TO UNBOLT THE TRIM PANEL BELOW THE STEERING WHEEL. ONCE REMOVED THERE IS A TEMP SENSOR BEHIND THAT PANEL. IT SITS RIGHT BEHIND A CIRCULAR VENT. TRY REPLACING THAT NOW YOU WILL HAVE TO GET THAT FROM THE DEALER. GOOD LUCK

Hi bensarabia,

This condition is usually an indication that the a/c refrigerant level is low. The driver's side will always get heating and cooling first. I would recommend having the refrigerant level checked and also having it leak tested.

We have this fairly often on our gm fleet with dual air controls. Replace the actuator and you will be good again (for a while!)

AC/Heating/Vent Not Working Correct

you have to remove the dash covering your vent system. You need to find the flap and controls that handle the flap. One of these flaps have been jarred. Put it back in place and make sure the cables all work correctly

Warm air from heater on passenger floor-cold on driver floor.

Likely, you have a blend motor problem. On the heater box itself, you will find one or more vacuum operated controls. as you change the dash settings, you will see them changing position. If one does not, it's likely jammed or the unit has failed. Hopefully it's one that does not require taking half the dash apart to get to!!! (that never fails to happen if the vehicle is mine)

sounds like the drivers temp door actuator is not working should be located on the drivers side of the air box down by the gas pedal or center dash area
