You probably have a faulty blower motor resistor, this electronic part controls blower motor fan speed. This part is located near the blower motor, unhook the electrical connection and you will see 2 screws holding the part in place. This part looks like some type of circuit board, Good luck, Gary

Probably not the switch, if it was more speeds would work than high. I would suspect the blower resistor which is by the blower.

My ac on my 1998 oldsmobile 88 won't blow out the be-level what could it be

I believe you mean "BI-LEVEL" mode, which means it should blow air simultaneously out of the dashboard registers and the lower register. The Temperature of the air blowing out of both of them is regulated by the temperature preset.
Does the fan still blow when you move the switch to BI-LEVEL? If it does but the air comes out of the DEFROST registers, that means your diverter is not functioning correctly, most likely due to a vacuum leak under the dash. If the fan shuts off in BI-LEVEL mode but still operates in HEAT mode, your selector module is bad. If the fan shuts off in BI-LEVEL mode and in HEAT mode, either your engine coolant is not hot enough to provide heat (automatic function), or the temperature sensor for your climate control system has failed.

I have a 2008 Ford Edge, the a/c gets cold, but the fan runs at diff speeds when it wants to and sometimes not at all. I have replaced the blower motor, resister & blower motor relay. The problem still...

try running your fan motor w/o the ac being on, ie: defrost, heat etc..

If the problem with fan speed persists, try replacing the fan speed selector switch. FYI FREON was Dupont's version of R12 refrigerant which hasn't been made in decades. Your car uses R134a, not freon.

A good day to you..i had this problem abot 5 days now.i had 95 nissan sentra the aircon is working fine but the fan goes on and off .i had suspected that a small board which connected to the fan speed...

Its called the blower motor resistor!! This controls all circuits to the blower motor (a/c fan) and regulates speed according to the switch/fan selector. Some issues caused from a faulty resistor may include: some or all fan speeds don't work, fan cuts out, no power or intermittent power to the fan motor.

The heating and cooling fan does not respond to the control switch. it will not turn on

If it was the resistor pack the fan will operate only in the highest speed selection. If all power levels don't work then a metal piece inside the selector knob fell off the assembly housing. In that effect there is no electrical contact to the selector level function. Hopefully you haven't vacuumed your car and loose it. If you found it, it would be another story repairing it and opt for a new assembly unless you're a DIY kind of person.

My 2002 GMC Envoy xl fan switch has 5 levels but the fan only works on levels 4&5. I heard there is a switch under the dash in the duct line, but I don't know what I'm looking for.

Your looking for the blower resistor. Its on the passenger side under the dash. Two of the wires go the the blower motor. The wire connector and the resistor can burn or corrode. The replacement is easy two screws hold the resistor in and the connector can be replace with **** connectors.

blower motor resistor is a highly probable cause.. another would be the switch/selector itself.
