Some transmissions have a drain plug (like the engine) but if it hasn't you will have to remove oil pan to do it .hope this helps.....cheers

For all transmissions except for the Borg-Warner T5R, replace the transmission fluid at the first 15,000 miles (24,000 km) and then every 30,000 miles (48,000 km) thereafter. The Borg-Warner T5R transmission does not require periodic changing of the transmission fluid. (they lie)
  1. Raise the vehicle and support safely on jack-stands. Place a fluid catch pan under the transmission drain plug.
  2. Remove the fill plug from the side of the transmission, then remove the drain plug. Be cautious when removing the drain plug: the transmission fluid can be very hot. Allow the transmission fluid to drain into the pan.
  3. Install the drain plug and tighten to 20 ft. lbs. (27 Nm) for all models except the 1996 Hombre, which requires 27 ft. lbs. (37 Nm).
  4. Refer to the manual transmission fluid recommendations for the proper viscosity of engine oil, or type of transmission fluid to be used for the T5R and NV1500 transmissions. Fill the transmission by pouring the new fluid through the fill plug hole in the side of the transmission. Fill until the fluid starts to dribble out of the filler hole. Install the fill plug to 17 ft. lbs. (23 Nm), then lower the vehicle.
so next you ask, what fluid
sure.
Use engine oil for all of the manual transmissions, except for the Borg-Warner T5R and the NV1500 (1996 Hombre). Make sure to use engine oil of the correct viscosity for these transmissions, as follows:
  • Except 1992-96 Rodeo and Trooper, high temperature-SAE 40
  • Except 1992-96 Rodeo and Trooper, normal temperature-SAE 5W-30SF
  • 1992-96 Rodeo and Trooper, high temperature-SAE 15W-40, 20W-40 or 20W-50
  • 1992-96 Rodeo and Trooper, normal temperature-SAE 5W-30
he Borg-Warner (B-W) T5R is found on Rodeo models with the V6 engine. The 1991-93 B-W T5R uses DEXRON-II automatic transmission fluid, whereas the 1994-96 B-W transmission uses DEXRON- III automatic transmission fluid.

use the highest Dexron number, on the shelf, mark III is not made today.

How do we check the transmission fluid in our Isuzu Rodeo?

Best time to check your transmission fluid is....let it sit over night so it has time to cool down. In the morning start it up...Let it run for about 6 or 7....To warm up transmission fluid temp.
your transmission fluid temp should be about 100 to 125. you have to craw under your rodeo to your transmission plug...not your drain plug.....Take your plug out, If fluid drips, More then likely you don't need fluid....but use your fluid tube to add a little in...If it start to run back out, Your fluid level is good.

Where do i put transmission fluid in a 2002 Isuzu rodeo

As far as I have found the 02 Isuzu Rodeo does not have a transmission fluid dipstick you have to in fact go under your vehicle to check, change and fill your transmission fluid. Transmission fluid level: You will have two plugs facing downward on the larger trans pan. The plug higher up on the pan is the fill/level check (stamped/recessed into the rear right corner of pan). ATF should just dribble from this plug on a hot, idling truck, in neutral on a level surface. The lower one is the drain. The one at the back of the pan in a recess is the filler. You need a hand pump or something similar to fill it to overflowing then top it off with the engine running. Make sure you shift through the gears a couple of times when topping off.

Where is the temperature light for my transmission fluid; I have a 2004 Isuzu Rodeo

There is no temperature light for your transmission fluid. Isuzu Rodeos are unique in the way that they have no dip stick or any way of checking your tranny fluid. You need to take it to a transmission specialist and they can drain all the fluid and replace it with new. It should cost around $180. Being low on transmission fluid can cause it to slip, eventually resulting in a blown transmission.

Where do I put in the transmission fluid for my Isuzu Rodeo '98 -automatic? If you have any pics will be very helpful! Thanks

It has to be pumped in from the bottom. If you see the bottom of the pan you will see a drain plug and a fill plug that is higher up. The truck must be running and at operating temperature.
