You must make absolutely sure that the fan motor is the problem. You can check it by taking two wires or alligator clips. Connect wire to power supply and connect directly to motor contact. Reverse connection if this doesn't work to make sure polarity if no an issue. You may have to scrape the motor connector contacts before yo do this. Once you've confirmed that the motor is not spinning after perfoming above test, remove the fan completely. Next, manage to remove the fan blade and clean the carbon deposits insides of the armature. Don't use any cleaner to remove the carbon build up inside the motor housing as it will not work. This same problem happened to my car about 1-year ago and I perfomed the same fix. My car remains running fine. Good luck.

It could be a fuse, but more likely a thermal sensor. Supply external power to the disconnected fan to test the fan.

96 honda overheats then cools while driving

If it is only overheating when your sitting still the cooling fans may not be coming on and pulling air thru the radiator. When you go down the road air is flowing thru the radiator and helping cool down the engine coolant.

I have a 95 honda accord its over heating i changed the radiator fan, cooling tempiture sensor but it still over heats i tested the temp plugs but the fans only work when the car is off but not when its on....

I have a 96 and had similar problem. Did you replaced or removed the Thermostat? If you did please replace it with a new one and it should solve your problem. My vehicle was doing the same thing and after checking sensors and replacing Fan Motor, problem persisted until I replaced the Thermostat. Good Luck.

I need to find out why there is no power to my cooling fans for a 1985 honda accord

I would check the fan relay and fan fuse. Also the radiator fan switch mounted in the motor could be bad. The fan switch is usually the problem.

What are the two fans for on my 96 honda accord, my car is overheating, but only when i stay parked with it on, or when i start to slow down after driving, if im driving it goes down to the normal temp....

check the Radiator fan.

1. Disconnect electrical connector to fan motor
2. Connect battery voltage across motor terminal using suitable jumper wiries.
3. If fan fails to operate, motor is defective.
4.If fan operate, check the Radiator Fan Relay.

Hope this can help. Good luck

Fan is not turning

U have a leak somewere in your cooling system and needs to be fixed, plus the fan has a censor that tells it to come on and that is probably bad,but check the fuses first.

Electric cooling fan

check wiring to fan for 12 volts. check wiring and see if there is a relay that can be replaced or tested. If the relay is good, and wiring has 12 volts, then either the temp sensor or fan motor brushes are shot.

Cooling fan in Honda

On my 1996 Accord (4cylinder), this was caused by a tube inside my radiator overflow tank dropping off into the tank - the radiator would have too little fluid in it, so the fans would run a LONG time after shutting the thing down. The tank is in the front left, a white cap with a black tube running out of the cap to the radiator. Underneath the cap there should be a foot or so of hose - this is what fell off of mine.

Hooked it back up, made sure enough fluid was in the radiator, and no more problem.

The dashboard coolant heat gage will show the high temperature, also.

Honda Accord 20012.0L auto, Radiator fans is not working.

check the thermostat, the thermostat regulates water flow through your engine to cool it down sometimes they get stuck open or closed, remove it and put it through a simple test
grab a cup of cold water and a glass of hot water drop it in one then the other, you should be able to see if it opens and closes
