That light is a radiator and it means that you are low on antifreeze.
Have the car checked for leaks.

Warning, or "Check Engine," lights in vehicles usually turn on for a reason. On rare occasions, however, a warning light will come on as a result of a fuse or something equally simple and cheap to fix.
In most vehicles, you must plug a small computer into the car, usually below the steering wheel on the driver's side, which provides codes for any detected problems. After addressing the codes, you must reset the warning light.

How to reset radiator warning light on Mazda rx8(2001 model)

Fill the radiator right up to the cap. the light should go out . If it doesn't check wiring to sender unit is not broken as that is the same as no water. use a code reader to reset the CPU to put the light out.

I have a red warning light showing on my dash on my mazda rx8, looks like a little bird cage, or a little temple or an upside down fuel filter, what is it

Its the low coolant light. Check the coolant level when the engine is cold. Add coolant as necessary. Take a quick peak in the engine compartment and under the car to see if there are any noticeable coolant leaks. If you don't see anything continue to monitor the coolant level. If it goes down again than there is definitely a leak and should be pressure checked to find the source.

Mazda 6 2001, IBS and handbrake warning lights keeps coming on

Check brake fluid level.  If fluid level is low, it can cause lights to flicker on and off while driving.

Coolant light

If you locate the water expansion tank (front of the bonnet, opened, with the pressure-cap to top-up if necessary) - check that there's sufficient coolant in there (check whilst the engine is cold).

If so, you may be suffering the same problem as a lot of RX8 owners, with a dodgy coolant level sensor in the tank. One way to confirm this is to remove the connector to the tank - on the left-hand side of the tank as you look from the front (not the air-conditioning connector, immediately to the left of it, attached to an aluminium billet). Ensure the (now free-hanging) connector from the wiring loom is safely stowed and give it a test drive. If you're satisified that the warning goes away then you know that the level sensor in the tank is faulty (and therefore the warning light is spurious). Unfortunately, that's a pricey item to replace (dealer price, UK, in the region of £200).

Remember, leaving the coolant sensor unplugged to avoid the spurious warnings would mean that a genuine problem that resulted in (catestrophic) loss of coolant would then go undetected, until too late. So do this at your peril.
