If the battery is fully charged, one on of a few things could be wrong. Bad solenoid, bad starter, or engine siezed. First two would probally only be around a $70 part.

Why does my starter just click and not turn my engine over?

I don't think the number of teeth on the starter matter. You just need the right starter for that engine.

In 1968, the 283 CI was replaced with a 307 CI. In 1969, the 327 CI engine was enlarged to the 350 CI. Those are the options for those years, small block v-8s: 283, 307, 327, 350; Big block v-8s were the 396 CI, and 402 CI. An old chevy guy might be able to tell you what engine you have, by looking at it.

I have a bmw 330 ci, i forgot to turn the head lights off, 2 hrs later the lights were on and i could not crank and did not hear no sounds. i have good power, all dash and head lamps work, will not start

the battery is most likely too low to start the engine as the starter motor needs a lot more power than the lights to operate, you will need to charge the battery.......hope this helps......cheers.

Bmw 325i wagon slow starting then totally no turning over at all.All lights work dash is all lit up .Battery is fully charged car has faint click.but still wont turn over.I think it might be the starter...

I would try replacing the battery first. Even a fully charged battery can have bad cells which will cause the battery to not have enough "power" to turn over the starter/engine.

2003 BMW 325 ci, headlights are strong, car will not start. When I turn the key to start I can hear one click which I am guessing it is some sort of relay. Charge the battery last night but did not resolve...

Thank you for using Fixya.

Hi. If you can hear a click (quite loud) from the engine compartment, but the starter won't crank, this also usually caused by discharged battery; since you already recharged the battery then the starter solenoid, starter cables or the starter motor itself could be a problem.

All the best!

Car wont start...clicking noise

well running the voltage from alternator should be at least 14 volts or a bit higher, engine off it should read at least 13 volts at battery. if alternater is less then 14 volts, it is the alternator at fault. or a loose alt, belt.

Mazda 929 ..engine won't crank .. batt is full

is it making any noise at all, if it makes whineing noise but not crank, its a timing issue, if it has no noise at all it is likely the started, try banging on it when someone turns the key

Our 2001 saturn sedan wont start we only hear a click noise. can it be a blown fuse for the security on the car that may be causing the car not to start

Chck that the battery is fully charged . There used to be a syaing that, "many clicks means it's a bad battery. One click may be the starter". The solenoid is not engaging the flywheel. If the battery is fully charged the starter is bad.
