My 2009 toyota camry won't start. I can't even turn the key. The car is in park and i step on the brake when I try to turn the key.

Should have adjuster on the lever to shorten the cable.a 10 mm tube socket is needed.

is key in igntion, where is it, off , on?
is foot on brake pedal
slips to where? try to be exact.
slips to reverse, or neutral? or????
first off, park lock freezes the shifter in to park, until brakes are applied.
so my guess, is ,sigh.
you step on brake, start car, and the shifter falls to neutral
it cant fall to nothing, only, PRNDL (&2)
some cars have a park button on the shifter that locks you in park
this can fail, its just a simple lock in the handle.

I think you will need to access the Nav System with a professional
scanner or scan tool & then use manufacture trouble charts, to even know what the system is supposed to do, & how to diagnose it

Hopefully a repair shop, if they want the job,otherwise blow out
your wallet at a dealer

what red light the brake light for the parking brake?that will also come on with low fluid

YOU MAY HAVE A FAULTY ITERLOCK SWITCH ON BRAKE PEDLE TO IGNITION CAPSULE, CHECK FOR A SHORT OR OPEN CURCIT

This car is fitted with safety devises which require your foot to be pressing the brake and as you move the selector lever, press the large button on top. If that doesn't work look at the front of the gate and you'll see a red button, press that to move out of park position.

try putting your hand brake on first ,before putting the gear lever into park

its on the console in front of the shifter use a flathead screwdriver pop up the little cover for the shift lock over ride slide the screwdriver straight down while stepping on the brake and pull it out of park the key must be turned on of course hope this helps and please dont forget to rate my answer

Try lightly tapping the starter with a spanner and at the same time turning the key to start, if it starts you need the starter overhauled.
