I need to replace the motor and regulator on the front passenger window. It is stuck down and was wanting to replace the motor and regulator myself. Has anyone done this before or know how to?

remove the door trim and replace/ repair the action of the window
motor / regulator , wires , switch etc

Sounds like a dead short! trace the wires back to the block.

I jus noticed the regulator assemby or the black parts that guide the window up and down is stuck. When I roll the window up and down the motor moves and that's bout it. Without it coming down I won't be abl to get the bolt to get the regulator out. This is my fisrt time doing it on my own. Please help. How do I unbolt the motor? Any manual way to put the window down?

The regulators need replaced in the back ones the front one could be a window motor or a bad switch. Unplug the window motors and hook them up directly to a battery supply of 12 volt power and see if they go up and down. If the motor runs and the track doesnt the cable is broken. If the front window motor doesnt move replace the regulator and motor assembly

IT SOUNDS LIKE YOU EITHER NEED A NEW WINDOW REGULATOR. THE MOTOR MAY STILL BE GOOD BUT THE REGULATOR MAY NOT BE ALLOWING THE WINDOW TO ROLL DOWN OR UP, BECAUSE IT IS WORN OUT.

you would first have to make sure it is switch.Motors and regulators go out often. Does the drivers door switch operate passenger side ok? Can you hear any noise when switch is is up or down position?You would want to make sure all of this first. Door panel controls are easy to replace but you really want to remove panel and make sure you have good motor and window regulator.

The power window regulator and motor come as am assembly. Usually the cable snaps and the window drops down and won't come back up. About a $400 repair.

1. Remove the front window regulator.
   • Loosen the two hanger bolts.
   • Remove the front window regulator bolts and front top run channel bolt.

sounds like bad regulator, pull your door panel apart and it is the part that goes onto the motor. long bow shaped thing with cable attached. pop out rivets, (I think 3 rivets) and on the upper side there are 2 nuts that have to be removed. then wiggle it around till you can get it out of the biggest hole in door. I had the same problem a few years ago except my window was stuck up. There is a cable inside the door that controls the window (not sure what it's called). Anyway, that cable was broken so the motor was working but not the window. Take the door panel off and you should be able to see the cable and if it's still attached correctly.
