Try checking the ground wire from motor to body and battery to body. It can cause lots of gremlins in electricl system if they are not grounded properly.

The dealer replace the time chaim and i put new stater motor and new battery i have problem to start, after 3 or 4 time when i tund the key start

Probably bad ignition switch where the key is. OR the line connecting to the starter solenoid terminal (small). Or could be a bad relay between the ignition switch and the starter solenoid terminal. Could be a bad starter solenoid, Yes, several instances of bad starter solenoids.

1999 f-250 superduty v10 truck 2x4 it won't start unless you cycle the switch several times or till you here the door locks click then it will start

are you sure you didn't replace the key switch? the starter/ignition switch is located on top of the steering column, actuated by a metal rod usually seperated from key switch.. just checking, if you replaced the right thing, report back!

Describe your 1999 RX 300 Problem Sometimes I have to turn the key on and off several times before the engine will turn over. Sometimes the engine turns over normally.

this is usually a sign that the solenoid on your starter motor is malfunctioning. you may also want to check the ignition switch itself. sometimes the starter relay can cause this issue. make sure your battery terminals are clean and secure before spending any money.some auto parts stores can help you with starting and charging system diagnosis for free.

It could be the relay, But I don't think you have one, most starters are direct wired from the key to a solenoid on the starter, If there is a relay, it is the big fuse box under the hood, and is just a electric switch, not subject to cold. It sounds more like the terminals are filthy and the contacts are not connecting. Clean off all the wires with a wire brush and scrub the terminals with it, get underneath the connections too. Where the battery cables connect to the lead terminals, If I was up there I would be plugging in my car at night to keep it warm. It will start right up in the morning.

2000 Toyota Tundra starts occassionally. Sometimes starts right a way, sometimes have to turn the ignition key several times before it will fire. Battery good, all terminals cleaned. What should I check.?

Welcome to FixYa! You need to replace the starter solenoid contacts, or the starter itself.

Note that the starter is UNDER the intake manifold. This is a VERY difficult job, and is not recommended to those who do not have sufficient automotive experience.

If you DO remove the intake, you MUST replace the intake manifold gaskets, or your engine will not run properly, due to air leaks at the intake mating surfaces.

sounds like starter solenoid, try cycling the ignition on start on start repeatly but do not go back to the off position off on start will activate the fuel pump repeatly and might flood it,with a faulty solenoid you can usually cycle the ignition repeatly and it will finally engage the starter
