Timing belt, water pump replacement

It's about time to replace the timing belt in my golf, should I also replace the waterpump while everything's taken apart? I need to flush my coolant anyways because I mixed varieties.
What else should I fix under the hood? It has 125K on it and runs good right now. I want to keep it that way.

Replace the crankshaft seal and thermostat also. You may also want to consider the radiator and hoses due to the mileage.

For a complete List of Services at that mileage you should get the Haynes repair manual on your vehicle. Changing the water Pump out won't be on the list. Checking and repacking bearings will be.

Wont hold water. big hose on the bottom of the radiator attaches 2 the engine and it leaks right out of the engine underneath that hose...

Well, if that Radiator hose is not leaking, then the Water pump seals have gone bad. More than likely you need a new water pump.

Vehicles w/ Timing Belt Driven Water Pumps Should Always Have The Water Pump Replaced When The Timing Belt Is Replaced.

If you do not, then the Timing Belt will fail, turning a low cost repair into thousands because of valve train damages. . .

For the Timing Belt & Water Pump KIT - its around $258 through NAPA

Sorry, but the timing belt must come off to remove the water pump, because that is what spins the water pump.

When should I change the timing belt for my Volkswagen 2002 golf!

If it's a 1.8l turbo, change it every 80k miles for safety. I've seen them break as early as 75k miles, If it's a 2.0l, then 105k miles is a good interval. ALWAYS replace the waterpump and tensioners, because w/o doing that, you might as well not do the belt. The belt dosen't break b/c of age in 99% of cases, it's b/c the water pump or tensioner locks up.
