You have to take it to a suzuki certified repair place and have the brake module replaced. I had the same problem and that's what it was. By the way you probably don't have brake lights...I didn't when i had that problem

I have a 2005 suzuki ferenza and wont come out of park and cant get key to go to lock position so cant get key out but i can if i unhook the battery?

This happened to me numerous times... there is a little spot by the shifter - it says "shift lock" something like that.... Push a key or something that fits in that hole and it will release. I had to drive around with a mini screwdriver forever and "unlock" that each time and one day it just stopped locking. The key also gets stuck and wont turn when the steering wheel is in the wrong position... (??) turn it back and forth as much as you can - that sometimes releases it as well.

My 2004 suzuki forenza will not shift out of park unless a key is inserted into the shift lock release, is there any way to fix this or any suzuki dealerships near bakersfield?

Did you spill anything on the console?
I'm not familiar with this exact model but I used to be a tech at a Mazda dealer. We used to have to take apart consoles and clean big gulp goo out of the mechanism. There is a small electric solenoid that unlocks the shifter when you step on the brake. It does not have enough power to move the linkage when there is sticky goo all over it.
Take the top off the shifter. Clean all the moving parts. Pre-moistened kitchen wipes followed by a light coat of silicone spray was the secret recipe.

My shifter got locked i hav a 2006 forenza

Most newer cars have a "shift interlock" on them so you can't shift out of PARK unless you are pressing the brake pedal. It is usually a switch attatched to the brake pedal under the dash. If this switch goes bad, you won't be able to shift out of PARK.

Car is now off but the key won't come out of the ignition. Is there anything we can do?

What you need to do in take it out of park and put it back into park do it a little bit hard to ensure its all the way in park then turn the key on and while you are turning it off turn the steering wheel left or right wiggle the key also while turning it off should come out unless there is a release.

2007 suzuki forenza shift lever will not shift from park

check your owner's manual for shift interlock and how to bypass. make sure your brake lights are working. If not check for blown fuse. brake light switch failure will cause shifter interlock to not function. neutral safety switch must also be checked.

I have a 2006 Suzuki Forenza that is stuck in park. I can get it out of park to reverse but it takes awhile. No one can say whats wrong with it but so far it could be the stop light switch, reverse...

Most common reason is that your ignition switch is too fussy. Spray some WD-40 on the key and then insert it and turn it on. Repeat a few times if necessary. J.

Try putting foot on brake turn key on then put it in park. The key will not come out unless the shifter is in park.
