On the rear side of your engine the tempeture sensor is there. remove harness and put a jumper wire on both ends. open the ignition key to on position you fan should kick in. if it doesnt check the relay in the eigine compartment theres a relay on the drivers side above abouve the tire. if nothing put direct connection to your fan from the battery to test the fan if the fan directly dont work replace the fan. let me know i can help

3 speed fan barely changes speed

You are talking about your blower fan for the air conditioner and heater right? More information will be needed to solve the problem.

When you say it barely changes speeds, does that mean it doesnt speed up, or doesnt slow down? By that I mean, is it "stuck" on low, or high?

Most blower fans run at different speeds through the use of a multi-stage resistor built into the fan switch circuit. Low speed is a high value resistor, medium speed is a low value one, and high speed is the fan running without any resistance.

If your fan is running on high and doesnt seem to want to run on lower speeds, the resistor pack may be failing. If the fan is running on low speed only, it may be that the fan itself is beginning to fail, or that the lubricant in it has gotten gummy.

Radiator fans

It may be your relay! A way of checking is unplug the fan and put a test light on the plug itself with a/c running and if it doesnt have any power going to the fan with a/c on then your a/c fan relay is probably bad!

Radiator fan doesnt switch off.

Many vehicles are set up to run the radiator(/ac condenser) fan whenever the air conditioning is on. Might this be the case here - is the air conditioning on when on the open road? Just a thought.

Fan not working/cause? will not opperate car over heats.

did you test your fan? ive had this problem before. i disconnected the fan and took a jumper wire off the battery and put them on the connector. If the fan doesnt work id replace the fan. But before this i would do the simple thing and check the fuses. If this doesnt work follow the wire back and look for a bad wire.
