A wheel bearing or a choppy tire usually will cause this.

Evaluate 88ft/sec*1mile/5,280ft*3,600sec/hr

Take it in two steps.

Multiply 88 ft / sec by 1 mi / 5280 ft to get 88 ft*mi / 5280 ft*sec. 88 / 5280 is 1 / 60 and ft*mi / ft*sec is mi / sec so it simplifies to 1 mi / 60 sec.

Multiply 1 mi / 60 sec by 3600 sec / 1 hr to get 3600 mi*sec / 60 sec*hr. 3600 / 60 is 60 and mi*sec / sec*hr is mi / hr so it simplifies to 60 mi / hr or 60 mph.

My 2000 blazer lt it seems that when you try to drive it trys to go into 4x4 part way it squeals and makes ticking noise it also feels like the brakes are on any idea what is causing this

The only thing that I can think of is your blazers 4x4 silinoid. If the silinoid is going out it could possibly cause the problems you are describing. I hope this helps you out, and if you have any other questions please feel free to ask.

How much will it cost for a mechanic to change oil pan gasket on my 1998 chevy blazer 4wd big v6 engine?

Gasket = $35 (permatex rubber)
Labor - my manual says 3 hours.
You'll have to be responsible for figuring out the labor price per hour depending on where you are located.
In MI, a garage is about $50/hr, and dealership = $85/hr
CA might be $95/$150/hr.

Parts are minimal on the job - its all labor.
Figure in about $20 for shop supplies... gasket remover, sealant, rags, etc.

2003 Chevy Blazer 4x4 Howling

Yes, it is normal to have to put it in neutral in order for it to switch from 4X2 to 2X4 and vice versa. Also, I would check the fluids in the axles to make sure it is up to where it needs to be, because that can also be the cause of the howling. Regular 4X4's are actually not designed to be in four-wheel-drive for extended periods of time, only when extra traction is needed. If you need extra help with this, just email me directly at darknessfallsquickly@cox.net and I will be able to further help you.

2003 Chevy Blazer 4x4 making howling noise in front end.

as stated above, check the transfer case fluid level, also check the fluid in the front and rear differentials, make sure it is full and clean. if the howling still exists it can also be caused by hub bearings, or differential bearings.

2003 chevy blazer front end howling and also rear clunking.

the howling sound could be a window with a little opening, check if your window was totally closed. the clunkin? or clickin sound you hear could be the road salt or ice thats being thrown to your mud guard by the wheel. anyway an actual inspection is recomended, pep boys can do a courtesy check for free.

Transmission or rearend

IF its whining noise then first check the transmission fluid in the rear axle if its 4X4 truck ,if its not 4X4 then check the brakes or the wheel is making contact to any metal part ....

Good luck....
