Question about 1992 Jeep Cherokee Sport
I have a 1993 Jeep Cherokee Sport. It starts fine and gets me where I'm going but my return trip is another story. It acts like it isn't getting fuel and quits. After several attempts it starts again and fails again. this happens several times before it stays running. I already cahnged the destributor cap and rotor and have been thinking maybe the fuses that have to do with fuel injection? What's up with it? This started last summer when it was very hot and on days when it rained all day, it totally would not start a second time until the next day after it stopped raining.
What you have is a crankshaft position sensor that is breaking down under a hot condition .Also the sensors electromagnetic field is leaking out electrodes so when it rains for a while and the air is very damp this basically shorts out the sensor. The sensor is located on the back side of the engine, drivers side were the transmission and engine come together. I hope this will help!
