Hello guest: y name is Roger and I will answer your question. Unfortunately there is no fuel filter to change on your Durango. The fuel filter was eleminated in 1995 on dodge trucks. The only filter is located on the fuel pump housing in the fuel tank. You would have to drop the fuel tank to gain access to the meter unit. Should you need further help please just ask. Thank You for using Fix Ya. Roger

It is located on TOP of the tank. You will have to drop the tank, pull the filter/pressure regulator out of the rubber grommet on the top of the sending unit, and replace it with a new one. You will have to cut the old clamp off if no one has done it before, and replace it with a GOOD band type fuel injection hose clamp, not the cheap screw type ones that cut into the hose.

SOURCE: Need to replace water pump. What's the easiest way

I would attempt to take the fan blade off the water pump, then remove the fan shroud off the radiator but leave the radiator in the car.. it may take a little more finesse but save you alot of time..

Hello my dodge durango 1998 engine is running hard, could you please give me some kind of solution for it.

If you mean running rough...

I would start with the easiest thing. Try a bottle of Fuel System Cleaner. Maybe a bit of gunk has gotten into an injector.

Have you checked your spark plugs lately? If not that would be the next thing I would check. They may need replaced.

If neither of those work, your fuel filter may need replaced. This is usually located on the inner part of the frame rail on the same side as your fuel tank.

Hopefully, one of those will get your Durango back to running smooth!

For a 2003 is the fuel filter inside the fuel pump?

HI no the fuel filter is located on the top of the fuel pump module. These are not a normal maintenance item since you have to remove the fuel tank to replace it.

2003 Dodge durango cuts off after stopping, took it to the dealer and they put it on the machine and nothing is showing up.

Have you changed the fuel filter lately? If not, do so. Often this is a sign of low fuel pressure. Good luck!

Acceleration problems

the usual culpit is a clogged fuel filter, or bad plugs. if it bogs down on hills or highway it is the filter. also make sure air filter is clean.

if i am not mistaken the fuel filter is built into the fuel pump. which requires you to drop the tank and replace both.
