2003 Jaguar S-Type R - Audio issue(Stereo powered but no sound)

My stereo is getting power and operating, however there is no sound out of the speakers. Also, the rear parking assist does not sound. I assume this is related to the speakers also. Is there a module that recieves both stereo and rear parking assist output.

SOURCE: Jaguar Xtype 2002 Stereo problem

Check the connector at the back, if the speakers had gone altogether is likely to be the cause. If it is not the connector, test the audio output on speakers on the stereo, if it works check connector and wiring to speakers, if you have no audio the stereo is faulty.

SOURCE: removal of 57 plate x type jaguar car stereo

unclip plastic surround from gear stick, then remove ash tray - i know i didnt think it sounded right either...carry on...remove plastic cover now thats hiding 2 torx screws, remove them.
at the top of the unit near the hazards, that little section pops off to reveal 2 more torx 60? screws, remove them, and it will just pop out.  the unit looks like it could just slot the stereo part out but you cant.

sounds like you might have some loose wires from the removal of your stereo, which happen to be grounding out and shorting your battery. wouldnt take long to drain your battery if this is the case. your brakes seems to not be working because after the motor loses power and dies your motors no longer is generating any vacuum, which your brakes rely heavily upon for extra brake booster. i would suggest looking for an exposed wire somewhere and tape it w/ electrical tape. hope this helps!

Radio sound went out

Does your stereo have a manual volume adjustment knob? If so, then try twiddling it quickly from side to side. If this helps, then it could be a poor volume control issue. Try having this professionally cleaned or repaired. If not this issue, then also try removing the stereo and checking the wire connections on the back of it to the speakers. I'm assuming that all the speakers are failing to project sound when the fault occurs, so we are talking power issue here. The fault is most likely part of the stereo head unit.

Cd-player (one cd) did not eject cd:s. Mechanism do not work. How I repair it? my car is X-type with navi 2003.

First, check to see if the fuse has blown. If the fuse is ok, try to find the electrical connector that hooks the stereo to the power supply and disconnect it for a few minutes. Reconnect it to the power supply and see if the cd will eject.

Any possibility of integrating an ipod into an x type 2004 audio system?

I’ve been looking for some time at installing an auxiliary audio input device to compliment the x-type audio system and a generic mp3 player.
From my searches it looks like the x-type has an unusual laser driven stereo system making aux-in a difficult topic. Also, I'm not a fan of the mp3 to radio transmitters where you tune in your radio to the same frequency as the device - these seem to suffer from poor signal and interference issues.
I chose to install a separate amplifier that is located between the stereo and the speakers. The device I chose is named “io_connect” ~£40. http://www.nexxia.co.uk/Car_Audio/iO_Play.htm in addition I bought a SOT lead suitable for this application from ebay ~£10 and a mobile phone cradle and charger ~£8. Here’s what I think is good about this method:-

Jaguar stereo remains untouched
Easy installation
Clear mp3 & SatNav playback
SatNav plays over speakers with music continuing also.
Can upgrade for Bluetooth connectivity
Tidy finish.
