You probable have a bad door contact switch that turns your assesary lights on and off. You need to look in a repair manual to find where it is located.I the meantime untill you do you can pull the bulbs on the lights that come on and replace the fuse so you can listen to your rradio.Good luck

Sounds like one of the door switches is faulty causing the interior lights to stay on. Is anything else not working?
The first thing to try with this is to clean all of the contacts on the doors. Does it give any indication that a door is open?
There are three slider rollers on each slider door that roll in a rail. Most of the time these wear out (they are plastic teflon or something) and need to be replaced. It's very common to need these if one of the doors "sticks". It doesn't latch all the way and then the interior lights stay on. If it gets really bad the open door indicator will chime when you put the van in any gear but it sounds like the problem is just starting on your van.

Let me know how this works out for you.

My 92 Corolla's rear window light, left rear light and parking lights won't turn off. I have to disconnect the battery for them to go out

There is probably a constant wire for possibly a stereo, amp that is connected in straight off the battery. If not, look at your fuse box to see if there are any wires jumping across from one fuse to an other fuses.

Every couple of weeks, the battery appears dead, no power anywhere. Can't jump it, solenoid just makes a rattling sound. If I go away for an hour or two, everything is fine, car starts right up.

Very odd behaviour!

Take the battery leads off and clean the terminals with a wire brush. Clean the inside of the other connector with sandpaper. Coat with Vaseline or spray with WD40. Charge battery with a battery charger for 12 hours. If that doesn't fix it, you are looking for a short in the door switch perhaps? Is there a fuse box down by the drivers knees, check for loose or damaged fuses.

Nice old classic car, take care of it.

Batteries keep dying

You have a short circuit or a bad switch somewhere near the fuse box or behind the fuse box as Ecu is also been not getting the complete voltage so kindly check the short circuit while testing from the battery wire to fusebox .Do it early before it blows your ecu.

2005 accent tail lights wont shut off

Pull that fuse or pull tail lamp relay, that should kill the lamps till you figure out the problem? You also have left an right tail lamp fuses, underhood fuse box. I don't know if tail lamp relay is faulty? Another concern, see the bottom wire on left of tail lamp relay, that is a ground controlled by the headlamp/multifunction switch, there could be a problem with that wire circuit or the multifunction switch. At the moment, I'm hoping just faulty relay.

I have a 97 Sable and battery light came on and everything started going wacky. Lost all guages, speedometer, RPMs, etc. All lights came on my dash. Then all my lights went out and the car died. I was told...

that's becasue the new abattery went dead because it was not charging. The battery light must be OFF to charge the battery. Take it back to whoever fixed it. May be a bad wire betwen battery & alternator too.

check the 175 amp mega fuse in the engine compartment.

cehck this ground for a good connection - G104
Left front fender near air cleaner

check the 20 amp fuse for the charging system. Fuse 26 in teh engine compartment fuse box.

I took my 2001 police interceptor too the carwash and washed off the motor and and I left the check engine light came on and the car died now it starts but it shuts right off

you got the electrical system wet.you suppose to cover alternator, cover the ignition coils and the under hood fuse and relay box.if not water will short out ignition and electrical system.try to dry wipe some of the water up using paper towers on ignition coils and fuse and relay box.if water got in alternator it will short out voltage regulator.

Low battery light comes on, then goes off, followed by the seatbelt light to start flashing. Took for a drive today, same thing happens, then all other warning lights come on and car just goes dead in...

It sounds like your battery is not charging. You may have a good battery and a good alternator but what you need to look for is the alternator fuse . It is usually a square block style fuse , 50 to 80 amps, normally in a fuse box under the dash. If it blows the car will drive till it runs out of battery juice and go bonkers just like you describe right before it dies. The charge light on the dash usually will not warn you of the problem. I think the manufacturers just want to charge you big dollars just to replace a fuse most people are not familiar with.

How do you shut off the check engine light?

If you are trying to reset the check engine light, you remove the EFI fuse from the engine compartment for about a minute. If there is a problem, it will soon light up again. This is where the EFI fuse is located. As you face the front of the 4Runner, you will see the battery at the front right. The FUSE BOX is just beyond the battery. The top of the fuse box has a panel which identifies each fuse. The EFI fuse is the MIDDLE FUSE, closet to the right fender. If you're talking about the maintenance reminder light reset button, its to the left of the guages, labeled "reset"
