It is mounted to the front radiator support, directly in front of the radiator top, slightly to the right of center.

Where is the Ambient Air temperature sensor on a 2004 subaru forester?

It should be located behind the front grill but ahead of the radiator.

My rear view mirror with temp and compass sometimes will not work. It will show all the digital shows up at once and not the temp, but sometimes it works ok. What can I do?

Does the compass work when the temperature goes out? If the compass still works then chances are that the ambient temp sensor is defective. Also, could be wiring to the sensor. If the compass goes out with the temperature then chances are the mirror itself is defective. Cheapest most common problem is the ambient temp sensor. It's behind the grill by the condenser at the front of the vehicle.

2002 bmw has no heat def,or heater .start up error -40deg dash

The ambient temp sensor is out of range maybe came unplugged or is faulty or the computer that reads the sensor is faulty or has a bad connection most ambient sensors are located behind the front grill and are pretty easy to get to enclosed is a typical bmw ambient sensor you didnt say your model so this is just a general idea 1_4_2013_5_06_15_am.jpg

Ambient air temp is readying high on my 2007 Ford F150, possible causes?

Usually it is the temp probe on the radiator support behind the grille.
When you pop the hood there are 2 probes there, 1 in the ambient air temp probe, the other is the front impact severity sensor. temp probe has the little probe sticking out of it. I have seen mixed results on replacing this, some it corrects the issues, others are still not happy after the replacement. I make the assumption ( bad thing some times ) that the ones that are unhappy are using an incorrect comparison temp sensor ( bank sign, etc ).

Where is the outside temp sensor located

You will find the ambient temperature sensor behind the grille and in front of the condensor. The grille will have to be removed to replace the sensor.

Outside temperature reads 50 at all times

if your outside temp is wrong on your 2002 Envoy here is how you fix it. part number 15047946 sensor. looks like the wrong part..it's not. take the brace part off of it by pressing the clips and slide out the part you need. Loosen the 4-5 bolts from the top of the grill..attached to brace right on top of the grill..just pull the grill out about 3 inches..put your hand thru..it's driver side to the middle. original is grey box with connector. pull it out, reattach connector to new part and push the new piece in the hole..get the piece from the dealer..25.00...put screws back in grill brace. reset the temp by pressing front defrost, rear defrost and mode all at once. took me 15 minutes..and I'm a 55 year old girl:) you can do it!

Climate control has a mind of its own

Inspect the ambient temp sensor behind the front grill for rust and corrosion. This normaly creates a default within the module if the sensor is defective.
