Back brake light stay on, replaced brake switch same problem.Truck has over drive and cruies control If you take switch out of circuit the brake lights stay on the same with the turn/hazard flasher.

Your brake lights and your turn signals go through the multifunction (turn signal) switch. It is common for these switches to short internally. Partial disassembly of the steering column is required to replace it. The airbag stsyem must be disabled, then the airbag removed from the steering wheel. Then the steering wheel must be removed to access the screw in the front of the switch assembly. The rest is pretty easy... a few screws holing the lower cover of the dash, the shroud around the steering column and a few connectors to deal with. (see pictures of switch assembly below)
There are two types of these switches available for 2000 S-10. With cruise control and without cruise control. The one WITHOUT cruise control is much more expensive!

I am trying to find out what some in dash lights mean, on the rights side of the steering wheel?

Each type of car is different. However, most cars have a few lights that are identical. First off, if a light is red, it is a light that indicates a problem that must be resolved right away like the low oil pressure light(looks like an old fashioned oil can) or the fasten seat belts sign( looks like a seatbelt). Other lights are orange meaning they are not as a high of a priority. These lights can include, but are not limited to: check engine light(looks like an engine sometimes has the word "check" underneath), low gas light(different for most vehicles), etc. You can also check you owners manual for different types of lights specific to your car. And if you still have any questions, you can describe the lights to me and i will try and tell you specificaly what they do. Hope this helps

Remove d/s airbag

disconnect the battery, then find the air bag plug normally under the seat or around side of the seat, maybe under the carpet *bright orange cable*

once you have disconnected the battery and the cable start taking the steering wheel apart and remove it, after market steering wheel will be needed unless your just going to cut the air back out and re fit the wheel, do not connect the air bag cable, you will have a dash light on the dash for air bag doing this though.

Intermittant low coolant light. Have flushed system, replaced low coolant sensor

The coolant sensor located in the radiator is either gunked up or faulty if the fluid level stays ok.. The sensor is located on the engine side of the radiator about 3 inches from the top on the right side looking from behind the steering wheel
