FIRST U NEED TO GET CAR SCANNED TO SEE WHY CHECK ENGINE LAMP IS ON. THE FREE SCAN AT AUTOZONE IS OK IF U DONT HAVE THE FUNDS FOR AN EXPENSIVE SHOP CHARGE. IT MAY GIVE U A START. IN THE MEAN TIME LOOK AT YOUR IGNITION PARTS AND CHECK FOR AGE OR WEAR. IT MAY BE SOMETHING OBVIOUS

Any rattles that come from an engine are not a good thing. This is most likely a catastrophic failure of a component like connecting rod, piston, valve rocker etc. Time for a new engine .

I have 104000 on my dodge 2004 stratus I take good care and its been good to me. Its missing I got a mis fire in # 1cyclender code . Relaced the coil plugs and wires. Ran good for a few days now its back...

You need to get a fuel pressure test on your fuel manifold. Since you've done the electric parts it's time to check for weak gas pressure. It can give you a miss-fire at one or more cylinders. The test is fairly simple but can eliminate a whole system early in the process. Next after this is a compression check which is more difficult and involved.

I have a 2003 Dodge Stratus 4-cyl...when I turn or yield to the left my car loses power and has a rattling noise after about 15 seconds and so many feet I can accelerate again...Any ideas???

Check under the car, near the rack and pinion, for a wire loom hanging down, and rubbing. The wire has rubbed a naked place, and it is shorting out against the car.Look at this.It might be the problem. If this is any help, please le us know, thank you.

1997 Dodge Stratus, 2.5L 4 cyl engine. Engine diagnosis from a trouble reader = cylinder 3 misfiring. The plug and spark plug wire are good. I don't know how too test the electronic ignition or the fuel...

Test the compression in that cylinder. Make sure you have the correct plugs, and good wires, as well as the cap and rotor button. If you have good compression, and the plugs and all are good, I would suspect either a bad fuel injector, bad head, or a bad distributor.
