O/D Off light goes off and on

the overdrive is the 4th gear. considering that it may not be an issue with your computer switching gears to fourth but an issue with the transmission itself. this light could be a signal instead of and engine warning light where the engine is fine but the transmission isnt.

2001 grand prix gtp rpm flucuating

Try this, pull the maf out ,if you look there is a hot wire going across the tube(maybe 2),if it has any white crusty stuff on it ,just use some spray throttle body cleaner to clean it up,even if you can't see it ,try it anyway!
Cleaning the MAF should be a part of every tuneup

I have a 2002 Dodge Durango with 98000 miles on

it might even be more simpler than a sensor, have you checked the fluid in it recently? when the fliud gets hot it looses its viscosity thus as it gets warm it gets morry runny and thins out, and then the torque converter has trouble, try that first..i hope this is an auto lol

My 2002 dodge ram starts with revolutions too high ( sometimes more than 2100 RPMs) I have already seen blue smoke coming out the exhaust pipes when the truck starts. after that truck idles fine at 600...

This sounds pretty normal since when you first start the truck the engine management system is probably in cold start mode by default. This will cause the engine to do what you are experiencing. It just takes a minute for the sensors on the engine to register with the computer and report on the parameters they are supposed to monitor. Please rate the helpfulness of my answer.

Transmission code P1740

The transmition is slipping, dodge trucks are noted for their tranny problems, I just replaced mine ($2400)bearly over 100,000 miles on the truck. Watch the engine temp if you keep driving it. It may start to over heat. Get it to a reputable transmition shop ASAP,Some place that garentees/warentees their work.
As for the heat/AC I would check for vacuum leaks. Get either a Hanes or Chilton's manual for it and it will tell you how to check the system.
