It could mean anything. Stop in at Auto Zone or Advance Auto parts store while you are out and ask them to use their code scanner to read the fault codes from your vehicle. This is usually a free service with them. That will identify the problem you need to fix.

Have your codes read. Autozone does it for free. Only then will you have an idea of where to start looking.

Check engine light on code P1299

Check your coolant to be certain you are full. The error code means a cylinder head is overheating, NOT GOOD!, if coolant is up, pull battery cable for 20 minutes (unit off) and this will reset the code. If the issue returns, investigate the sensor, presuming you are full up on coolant.

Hi

You need to go to a shop with a code reader. The check engine light was telling you something and you need a code reader. Depending on which country you are in, if in the states autozone may have it for free.

Whatever initiated the light is now messing up the other parts of the car.

Hope that helps.

Most major auto parts stores have check engine light code readers. You can ask them to read your codes for free. Once you have the codes, you can look up what they mean (or ask for the meaning on this website) and decide for yourself what to do. The codes may be related to the work that was done or completely unrelated, but the codes are needed to diagnose what could be wrong since your car has no other symptoms.

Service Engine soon light just activated at 84000 miles. What can cause this on this model?

Time for factory service, that happens on those between 80000, and 100000 miles. Ford lets you know. They reset it once service is complete.

Ford f150 with 80000 mile running real rough and check engine light is not on

first start with the basics, chek your fluid levels(oil/coolant), make sure they are full, if you have the means to check the fuel pressure then check it, if you havent changed your fuel filter in a while then change it, dont forget to chek your air filter, also do you know for sure that your check engine light is not on, when you stick the key in the igntion and turn the key to the first spot, before you start your engine, your dash lights should all come on and do what called a bulb check, make sure your check engie light is coming on, if it does then i would still connect a reader to your engine and see if there are any fault codes, autozone will do this for free.

1992 Jeep Wrangler 2.5L engine maintenance light needs resetting

It's a module under dash programmed to turn on Maintenance light. You can pay $80 to replace module or pull wire going to module and save $80. BTW, it's there to tell you to replace your Oxygen sensor.

Engine light on Diagnostic code is P0601

it is an internal problem in the pcm....if the car is under 8years old and 80000 miles take it to the dealer for free replacement under a fed emissions standard....if over you will have to pay...it could eventually leave you stranded
