Question about Cars & Trucks

Open Question

White smoke out a 2004 hyundai sonata cut off. Started back up fine no smoke and the prior ticking noise in the top of the engine was gone. A time belt crankshaft sensor and a oil change were recently performed on the car. What have caused the prior ticking in the engine?

Remove the facia plate, and remove the 4 screws that hold the radio in place. It's actually one of the simplest cars you can do.

My 2013 Hyundai Sonata is making a ticking noise and the check engine light went on. I have blue link and the error message said INVALID STATE ERROR. What does this mean?

If the engine is making the ticking noise in a Sonata, you may have a recalled defective engine which may be replaced for free at Hyundai if you are within the warranty mileage. You will need to provide proof of oil changes.

2004 dodge neon and white smoke

You probably have a bad head gasket.
To verify this see if the coolant is milky or if there is oil in the coolant reservoir. If so you need a new head gasket . If not you have an oil leak into the combustion chamber.

Approx cost for head gasket w/head cut approx $1500 to$ 2000.

If it turns out to be an oil leak into combustion chamber I really can't project . Need to know whats leaking and why.
Good luck

Engine knock noise on cold startup

these 3.3l engines are equipped with timing chains. if vehicle has prolonged down time, typically more than 4 hours, vehicle makes a chatter until the timing chain tensioners put tension on the chain. you will need them replaced.
