No. Unfortunately it wont pass. If you invested already over $450.00 in repairing the emission system you could pass it if you have proof for it.

Engine light is on

There are problems with the O2 sensors (2 of them in the front exhaust pipes directly behind and below engine manifolds for cylinder banks 1 and 2). The 2 sensors should be replaced as a set never just one.

i had this happen on my wifes windstar. its a relay/module located under the steering column by all the wires. you need the new module and than it has to be programed, i took it to best buy for that.

How many O2 Senors does my van 1998 Winstar 3.0

get the code, the 02's most likely have nothing to do with this problem. The 02's purpose is to tell the PCM you have a fueling issue or misfire issue. The fact that the light is flashing tells me you have a misfire going on and they are doing thier job. Why pay 100 bucks for a part that wont fix this when you can pay someone 100 buck to tell you what your problem is.

2000 windstar service light on

Your van has four o2 sensor's, the code should tell you which one is bad for exsample code should be like,
o2 sensor bank 1 sensor 1 or 2
o2 sensor bank 2 sensor 1 or 2

Also make sure you don't have a vacum leak.

1998 WINDSTAR CSERVICE ENGINE SOON LIGHT IS ON

it's not likely a bad o2 sensor would cause it to run rough, but the catylitic converter, which is what the o2 sensor reads the flow of, would cause the car to idle and run rough. If you take it to an auto parts store to have a diagnostic test ran on it( most major parts stores will do this for free), thecodes it gets would help pin point it alot better.

1998 Ford Windstar, Service engine light stays on

The only way to tell why teh engine light is on is to have the engine codes read. Many part stores do it for free. Most shops charge $40 which is well worth it. That's what we charge. Usually it turns off if there is a faulty sensor, or circuit problem,

Illustrated diagram on how to remove speed sensor for windstar 98

The Vehicle Speed Sensor is located on transaxle, at the rear of the engine. I would check the harness connector to be sure it is clean and connected tightly. Also check the wiring for cuts and chaffing. Since it is fairly inexpensive, only about $42.00 from Ford, you may want to consider replacing it, at least to eliminate it as a possibility. You may want to go to a muffler shop to have this done like speedy, I believe the flex pipe needs to be undone to get to the VVS. If there is an Auto Zone around your area, you could always ask them for the step by step instructions to replacing the VVS, and it's free of charge. Good luck and hope this helps.

O2 sensor location

DTC P0156 indicates the output voltage of the downstream Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) is less than some calibratable functional window. The possible causes are:
  1. Pinched, shorted and/or corroded wiring and pins.
  2. Crossed sensor wires
  3. Exhaust leaks.
  4. Contaminated HO2S.
  5. Bad HO2S.
Since you didnt specify the engine size in your vehicle - please see the diagram below for the location of the sensor(s)
