SOURCE: A/C not cooling. Can't locate freon intake valve

its hidden for a good reason.. the pressue in that system is higher than most and normall only dealers should adjust it or specialist but if you have the tools and knowldege tp do then you need too look on left side under plastics its got a yellow or orange top i believe...BE CAREFULLL jags are designed for specifics....

SOURCE: need to replace a idle air control valve on a 1999 300M Chrysler

Removal & Installation

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Disconnect the IAC electrical connector.
  3. Remove the IAC mounting screws.
  4. Remove the IAC.

To install:
  1. Install the IAC to the throttle body.
  2. Tighten mounting screws to 5.1 Nm (45 inch lbs.) torque.
  3. Attach electrical connector to the IAC.
  4. Connect the negative battery cable.
  1. Disconnect electrical connector from IAC motor.
  2. Disconnect air plenum (where applicable).
  3. Remove two mounting bolts (screws).
  4. Remove IAC motor from throttle body.

To install:
  1. Install IAC motor to throttle body.
  2. Install and tighten two mounting bolts (screws) to 60 inch lbs. (7 Nm) torque.
  3. Install electrical connector.
  4. Connect air plenum (where applicable).

Removal & Installation

The in-tank fuel pump module contains the fuel pump and pressure regulator which adjusts fuel system pressure. Fuel pump voltage is supplied through the fuel pump relay.

The fuel pump is serviced as part of the fuel pump module. The fuel pump module is installed in the top of the fuel tank and contains the electric fuel pump, fuel pump reservoir, inlet strainer fuel gauge sending unit, fuel supply and return line connections and the pressure regulator. The inlet strainer, fuel pressure regulator and level sensor are the only serviceable items. If the fuel pump requires service, replace the fuel pump module.

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions section.
  2. Properly relieve the fuel system pressure.
  3. Remove or disconnect the following:

    Negative battery cable Fuel tank
  4. Clean the top of the tank to remove any loose dirt.

Where is this bleeder valve?


Usually 2--1 on thermostat housing and 1 on lower intake manifold--left of center--note 4' of .250 clear hose used on bleeder to route any coolant away from drive belts.

During the replacement of my radiator, the ac line was knocked lose. Do I need to a specialist to refill the freon? I have a 2001 300M


The correct answer is "yes".

The backyard mechanic answer is this:
Reconnect all hoses.
Use a recharge kit with the engine off and just put some pressure back into the system, keeping the Refrigerant can upright. Check for any leaks with soapy water by the repaired connection.

If no leaks, you know have to purge the system. The correct way is to evacuate the air with a vacuum pump. If you don't have that, the alternative is to remove the kit from the charge port. Carefully press in the small pin in the center of the port to open the valve and release all the gas you just charged in. Refill again like you did the first time, DONT run the engine, just let the refrigerant can pressurize the system again. The bleed it off again. Repeat this several times.

Each time you do that, you dilute the air that may have gotten into the system, and increase the percentage of refrigerant vapor. After about four or five times doing this, most of the air and moisture should be removed. Refill the system as described on your refill kit and you should be back in business.

Note: don't this with R-12 gas, it is an environmental hazard, R134a is not.

P0112 is the code for a intake air sensor problem. If you can buy one seperate it will be located between the Air filter and the Throttle Body ... usally near the Mass Air flow sensor . I am a Jaguar Tech our are located inside the Mass Air sensor . Also ck the actuall housing of the air filter assembly

It is an interference engine, so the odds of damaging the valves are high.

The air conditioning in my 2000 CHrysler 300M is not cold. How do I charge with additional freon?


This must be done by a certified AC mechanic in most states. The freon, although said to be "friendly" is still controlled. Besides, if you add too much freon R134 it will detonate your compressor- and that's worth more that 400 bucks. A check and refill (have the leak fixed first) is about 75 bucks in many garages. Certainly worth the price even for me.
