If it has the 4.3L V6 they are on each side of the engine in between the headers. They are a pain to get to but not impossible. Good Luck!

Yes if that plug he left in was bad or worse yet, if that plug that wasn't changed is actually missing. You need to check that all the plugs are actually installed first and also that the Spark plug wires are actually seated on each plug completely. Unfortunately a lot of "Shadetree" mechanics make the mistake of pulling on the wire itself to get them free and as a result damage the wires causing this problem. Another possibility is he has the coil wire loose or damaged or the firing order mixed up. The firing order is usually stamped on the intake manifold near where the air intake or carb are mounted to the manifold. The Distributor cap should have a mark indicating the number 1 position and the rest follow in clockwise fashion. The problem is this is the time frame that Chevy was switching between Distributors and Coil packs which are commonly square and a little more difficult to identify the actual position on. If you suspect the firing order and want to be sure beyond a doubt about what it is and which is which on a Coil pack I recommend you get a Haynes or Chilton's manual on your vehicle from Auto Zone or Advance Auto parts store, other Auto parts stores carry them as well anywhere from $12 to $20 dollars depending on your area.

No spark to engine 1991 ford pickup

It can be faulty or dirty spark plug itselfd. Also for reference get the fuel level checked. Is the fuel tank is empty or near to empty.
Try cleaning the spark plugs and then see if that is helpin. On some cases the black carbon layer gets collected on the spark plugs and that causes the problem,so cleaning the plugs help. But if its not helping, then spark plug has to be replaced.Spark plugs get power from ignition coil to ignite sparks. If ignitioncoils are faulty then also there will no spark.--------------

I have a 2000 chevy s-10 2.2 that stopped running while i was driving. nothing abrupt happened, it just stopped. ive changed te crankshaft position sensor, still not starting. im getting spark. fuel pump...

I would check the control module. Some parts stores can test them. The control module controls when the plugs fire. Usually mounted under the coil packs.

Truck won't start. engine turns over. checked

have someone to stand back by the truck why you turn the key to listen to hear if there is noise coming from the gas tank if it is then its not the pump then it maybe your fuel pump relay or the crank sensor give these websites a try and wish you the best of luck Michigan Man.

Change the spark plugs

there are 4 large wires at the front of the engine on the cylinder head, carefully remove them by twisting the rubber boots back and forth until they come off, under those are the spark plugs, u will need a 3/8" ratchet and a short socket extension with a 5/8" spark plug socket on it, put the socket over the plugs and remove them reinstall in reverse order, 10 minute job on an escort.

1994 chevy s 10

The couple across the street from where I live, had the same problem. He also changed plugs and wires and even the coil. I told him to replace the rotor bug and distributor cap and all started running smoothly again. Looking at the bug and cap nothing looked bad other than a little wear. It even checked out using a meter. Only thing I could think of was that there may have been some hairline crake robbing the spark and causing it to missfire.... Don't really know.
