Hi
Very common on rebaults but its normally the scenics, I have a scenic and have had this issue before. there are a few things to try befroe you spend any money.

First get someone to push the door inward towards the car whilst pressing the keyfob to lock and unlock repeatedly, try also pushing to door and trying to open the door repaetedly whilst using the keyfob also. they sometimes just sticka nd need a little bit of persuasion to get them open.

Secondly if its a rear door, which it most often is then try to remove the door plastic trim that cover the door, this is a Knightmare job sometimes as you just cant get in properly and the trim is hard to remove with the door closed. It took me 6 hrs to open my door in this way, where the lock mechanisim is toward the back of the car / door you should be able to just see where it mets the car door pillow / frame. if you can push the meatl tab across it may open, but again it does take a long time sometimes to get in to start with. what happens is the mechanism fails and parts of it either fail or snap thus when your opulling the handle to open the door the mechanisim is not moving. also it could be just the handle, once inside the door look at the rear of the handle and see what it is connected to, some are metal rods others are cable pull on these in each direction to see if that helps it.

Hope this help, It is very common fault on these cars and even renault will tell you its no easy task getting it to open. I hope your lucky and and the first method works.

Regards

Dan

Is there a fuse for 05 Renault modus dci 1.5 Privelidge tailgate lock

The door locks and boot locks are all on the one circuit and if the door locks are working OK I doubt very much it would be a fuse problem. Or check the wiring in the boot under the plastic cover and see if it looks ok no sign of water damage etc

Opening the drivers door doesnt automatically open the passangers door

Some vehicle locking systems allow a single button press to unlock the driver's side door and require a second button press to unlock the passenger side door. Likewise, use of the key to unlock the driver's side door does not automatically unlock the passenger side.

Cant get back door to stay closed . The lock is stuck in locked position I think and the door is open. When I go to close it, it is'nt staying closed. Had to duck tape it to stay closed. LOL! I keep...

It sounds to me ( correct me if I'm wrong ) like the door latch on the side vertical edge of the door is in the LOCKED POSITION. In order to unlock it perform the following. First electrically with the LOCK button UNLOCK the locks. Now with one hand hold the OUTSIDE DOOR HANDLE IN THE OPEN POSITION, while at the same time FLIPPING OPEN THE LATCH. All Done . Now you can close the door. Hope this helps

Central locking wont stay open

Here's what I suspect is happening. The door locks will lock and unlock normally when the key is OUT of the ignition. If the key is IN the ignition, the doors cannot be locked (manually, key fob, or otherwise, if the system is operating as designed - prevents the doors being locked when the key is in the ignition). I've seen this problem before, but on a Santa Fe, not an Accent. The ground signal of the right hand front passenger door was lost, and the doors automatically locked. Perhaps something similar is happening in the circuit between the ETACS module and the right front passenger door lock/unlock actuator. Could be anywhere in the circuit.

ab4c712.gif These wiring diagrams may be helpful. The relays expecially may help solve this issue. As you can see, these relays are also controled by the ETACS module (Remote Keyless Entry).
