Question about Mercury Grand Marquis
Have you checked the battery voltage and had a tune up? I think it is an electrical problem. Check spark plug wires for damage and check plugs as well.
I've also seen this problem if the starter is sticking due to worn contactors, leaving it engaged when the car has already started.
