First of all there is an electrical fault in your car. You will now need to recharge your battery to start again. After recharging check with a multimeter for the battery voltage across and to be incresing to about 16 volts when your engine is powered to high rpm. If ok disconnect battery and attach an ammeter to test for the drain current. there will be a residual drain for the clock, the audio set and the remote. But if this exceeds then isolate the faulty circuit by disconnecting the fuse one by one to confirm. Repair or replace the unit that is draining the most current. Now the horn relay also needs to checked or replaced. Also see if any rodents have damged the wiring to trigger off the horn. Iam sure this must help you out but do the test with cautious attention. Hope my advice helps. Good day

According to the Mercedes forum, you are not alone, the alarm system goes off at random, it has something to do with the tow button, disabling the horn doesn't stop the alarm and the lights keep flashing. But the horn is quieted. I would trash the alarm system, or pay the dealer to mess with it, which is usually an expensive joke. You have insurance on the car, let them steal it. I stopped worrying about my bike, I leave the key in it. Nobody touches it. Before I couldn't leave site of it. Now, I don't care. Let them have it, I'll get a new one, Anyway, check out mercedes forum.

Hi. My Mercedes C220 CDI horn has become faulty. Where it used to be a big loud horn, it now is a little beep... Any Ideas, much appriciated. Rgds WB

MOST CARS TODAY COME WITH A HIGH PITCH AND LOW PITCH HORN USUALLY MOUNTED RIGHT NEXT TO EACH OTHER , IT SOUNDS LIKE THE LOW PITCH HORN IS BAD . I WOULD GET ONE FROM THE DEALER AS THE "AFTER MARKET" ONES TEND NOT TO SOUND THE SAME

Yes, you will be able to jump it. Yes, you will need a new battery. Yes, the battery will drain completely - actually, if you have at least an alarm system active , it will completely drain in less than 2 months.

Mercedes e220, horn, heater fan and electric

Horn and heater may be fuse related. The headrests have nothing to do with fuses. The switch is bad or going that way for the seat or the motors for the headrests are out.

The horn fuse spin it, or replace as corrosion from aluminum fuses cause problems. I suggest replacing them all with new copper barrel fuses. The blower motor fan is a strip fuse on the driver side strut mount in a tootsie roll sized case.

The ign lights do not come up when the key is turned just the h/brake and abs light the battery seems not to be charging and the car dies when the batt is dead model 200te estate H reg

This sounds like the output regulator on the alternator! if the car has electronic ignition, this works under load from the engine! if the alternator is not working the the electronic ignition will run off the battery.... thus draining it and the engine will stop! can you test he alternator using a test meter, this should throw out approx' 14-15volts under load! if this is dropping or does not register a voltage then the alternator is at fault! replace and charge battery! hey presto.
hope this helps
Kind regards
