If it 'condenser' coil has a leak you won't have a/c very long, and when you fill it it will leak out fast and look like smoke.

My 2000 ford exporer radiator leaks at the upper hose. I have replaced the hose and the clamp, it still leaks. It does not leak all of the time

the truck has a history of getting a small crack in the radiator tank, that makes you think the hose is leaking.

Leaking anti freeze

Sound like the tube that connects your heater core to the water supply from radiator. On Fords these tube are metal and very oftern rust out and need to be replaced. This is located behind and to the right (passenger) side of the engine.

My 2000 Dodge Dakota 3.9 V6 sport won't blow hot air and overheat

First things first, with the engine COLD, remove the radiator cap and look inside...top off with water if low or empty.

If you have to add more than a cup of water to the inside of the radiator then you have a coolant leak in the system somewhere and that is why I said every GOOD mechanic will first pressure test the cooling system for leaks before doing any repairs like a water pump.

It still sounds like you either have:

A. Don't have enough coolant inside the radiator to keep the cool...thus you have a leak somewhere

or

B. You have a restriction somewhere...probably in the radiator which is not allowing coolant to flow throughout the engine and heater core.

No reverse..1998 exporer sport 2 door 4x4 sohc v6 auto

your transmission part number for a motocraft rebuilt trans would be TRM1341, as far as they list it the transmission was only for that year, meaning you would need to find another 1998 explorer or 1998 mercury mountaineer in order to replace your trans. hope this helps :)
