Just the battery light will go out when you replace the alternator, that is, when the car is running. It is normal for the battery light to be on when the ignition is on but the engine is not turning the alternator (running).

The oil light and brake light are different than the alternator circuit.

I havea 2001 mitsubishi eclipse gt and the battery and brake light will not go off. The battery is brand new and brake fluid is full. What could it be?

Bad recharge tension, must see with voltmeter by battery, mostlikely bad alternator bridge/brushes.Rare:alternator belt slip, can be asociated with motor over heating (because of the water pump shared belt).Brake light must track the problem, can be stucked float on the pump oil cap, worn brake pads (if it have the sensor, easily identify by wire near the pads),bad hand brake switch.

Why does the battery light and brake light flash on & off?

If it can be determined that the oil leak caused the alt. to fail prematurely it should be replaced at no cost to you.If it is obvious and there is alot of oil on the alt.I would file it under the warranty.

The battery light and the brake light come on. This just started yesterday. We replaced the battery and front brakes two weeks ago. Is this just a glitch in the computer?

When you replaced the battery, did you have the alternator tested? The battery light indicates either the battery is not holding a charge or not receiving the proper power from the alternator to charge the battery.
The brake lights could be a glitch but it could also mean that you are low on brake fluid or you have air in the brake system. Suggest you at least check the fluid level in the master cylinder and bleed the brakes.

My a/t oil ,brake, and battery light have all come on in my 2001 nissan pathfinder..the battery was just replaced about 3 months ago..have any idea what could be wrong?

The incorrect battery was installed , the alternator is defective or the wiring connected to the alternator and battery cables are defective (corrosion and looseness)

Showing battery light & momentarily braking on it's own

Have the alternator checked for out put voltage,at the battery, while engine is running. It should be 13.65,to 14.25 volts.anything less,or over,is not acceptable. If the alternator is over charging, then it will drag the engine r p m down.If the battery light is coming on,at all, there is a problem in the charging system.

The battery dash light, the parking brake light, the brake failure light flicker faintly to bright to faint while I drive and it died on me. when I tried to start the car the following lights came on...

Replace the alternator, and clean the battery cable ends real shiny,no grey,or black film left on the cable ends that connect to the battery.Alternator does not have enough power to run the ignition and all it`s assesories.
