Will a bad temperature sensor cause ac to not function properly? on a 2002 chevy trailblazer with auto climate control.

Yes, a temperature sensor inside the cabin if off will cause it not to function correctly.

Based on the limited information provided, it would appear you have a bad climate control control board. This controls all heater/AC functions including climate control. If you're unable to change temperatures and/or fan speeds, the board is most likely bad and needs replacement.

Air temp indicator only reads temps below 50 degrees


Ambient air temp sensor could be the cause. Normally located in front grille area.

I WOULD CHECK FUSE.SOUND LIKE FUSE.NO I WOULD NOT LEAVE AS IS.YOU NEED CLOCK.YOU HAVE CLIMATE CONTROL AC.YOU NEED TO SEE TEMPERATURE SENSORS SO YOU CAN ADJUST AC + HEATING TEMPERATURES.

Engine is racing


The vehicle should have a stored trouble code, go to an Auto Zone they will read the code for free. Usually idles surges are caused by a malfunctioning TPS sensor or throttle position sensor.

The climate control shows 50 when its 90 out. Changed computer same problem


climate control is adjusted manually to the interior and doesnt have a relation with the outside temperature

This is the first time I have heard of this problem. It's not to say it's not common. Try the salvage yard first obviously cause its cheaper. If problem presists contact the dealer for advice.
