Question about 2002 Saturn L-Series

1 Answer

I replaced my #1 injector because it wasn't working and had the battery disconnected for about 5 hours. After I completed the job I reconnected the battery and the car was idling rough and is getting increasingly worse. Not to mention the radiator fan races but goes off when the car is turned off, and last night my coolant light came on with the gauge reading fine?

It sounds like with the amount of issues you have described, your ECM may be the problem and will need to be replaced. You can get one from the Salvage yard or you can get one from the Auto Zone, you are going to have to get the new ECM flashed to the information stored to your car's PRO codes and to have your radio work again.
Thank you for using fixya and i believe Auto Zone sells the ECM for around $150.00.

I replaced the h2o sensor on my 2004 lexus gx470 now it idles to low.I disconnected the battery neg before I replaced it.

If its anything like a Ford, changing a sensor throws the electronics into a frenzy. Try completely disconnecting the battery and leaving the car for an hour to completely wipe or reset the electronic programs. Reconnect the battery and try the car again. The electronics should have reset to the factory standard settings and will communicate with the new sensor.

Main alternator fuse for my '92 Toyota Paseo constantly blows out when I reconnect my red battery connection to red battery post. Why?

carefully disconnect the alternator completely, now reconnect the battery, now one by one reconnect the alternator carefully first the connector check is fuse is blown, now the big wire that charges the battery if the fuse blown when the alternator was disconnected, the problem is in the wires, an accident, a mice, a recent engine job.
The fuse blown when the terminals to alternator are connected the problem is the alternator.

How to install a starter in a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee limited?

This is a pretty easy job if you have the correct tools.

1. disconnect the battery
2. remove the power connector from the starter
3. remove two bolts holding the starter on (they bolt into the bellhousing)
4. remove starter
5. replace starter.
6. install two bolts
7. reinstall wire harness
8. reconnect battery.
It is not a bad job at all...just make sure you have a tool set. The hardest part for me was that the bolts were really tight so you may need a 1/2" dr ratchet. Also, before you reinstall the bolts, make sure you clean them and use locktight so they don't vibrate loose

Need to Replace my starter. Can i get a step by step crash course? 94' Cutlass Ciera

Before taking your starter motor off take a note of the make and model number and that the replacement matches it exactly, there is nothing worse to find that half way through a job that the replacement is critically different in some way. Disconnect the negative cable to the battery. Unbolt the cables to the starter solenoid and starter motor assembly. Remove the two mounting bolts and drop the motor assembly out. Reverse the above steps when installing the new motor. Sorry that this is not a more complicated procedure but swapping the starter motor for a new one is one of the simpler jobs. Take your time and keep safe and you should be able to complete everything in about an hour. Remember to reconnect the battery. Good luck

I have a 2005 town and country and code# P2097 just came out what this code mean

your post cat O2 sensor is reading too rich... try this, completely disconnect the battery, touch the wires together with a wrench for one minute, (THE BATTERY CABLES, NOT THE BATTERY!!!)

leave the battery disconnected for 30 minutes to one hour, hook the battery back up, start the vehicle, don't touch the throttle, brake or anything else for 5 minutes (if you have a garage don't forget to open the door)

turn off the vehicle and restart it, if the code doesn't clear itself then take it to an auto parts store, tell them you think you fixed the issue and need the code reset so you can be sure.

if the above steps don't work then you will need to take it to a dealer as there is some other reprogramming that they are able to do.

here are the steps they should follow, notice none of them include replacing an O2 sensor

they should check/clear the code.
reset the adaptation values.
do a "quick delete" before disconnecting communication between diagnostic equipment and car.
disconnect the battery from the car.
do a battery reset- touch both connectors that go to the battery posts with with a wrench for a minute.
let battery sit disconnected for 1/2 hour.
reconnect battery.
check to see if code is gone.

good luck

Changed plugs and wires, injectors, has mis and code p0305 compression #1 145, #5 155 1996 ford explorer 4.0l

Definitely a cylinder #5 misfire. Did you reset the computer error log by disconnecting the battery for several minutes, then reconnecting?
If so, the problem could very well be in the electronic distributor. Check for dirt, arcing, cracks, etc.

Will not start after it stalls untill about 5-10 minutes

spray carb cleaner on the intake manifold near cylinder 1... common problem is the intake manifold gasket leaks vacuum causing a misfire...the not starting could be due to a faulty crank sensor
