Well, your owners manual (or any owners manual for this year truck) will tell you in the back of the manual what should be or should have been serviced as you accumulate mileage.

Consult the manual. The obvious are the oil changes, the transmission fluid changes, the air filter changes, plugs are around 100,000 miles. There is an internal cabin filter. Again just check out the manual or get one.

Hi,
a 6ya Mechanic can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US.
click here to Talk to a Mechanic (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

2005 chev. Aveo will not shift into overdrive. What could it be?

Due to the age of the vehicle, It is due for a Transmission filter and fluid change. It should have been done at 80,000 miles. Perform an OBDII scan of the stored fault history and look for a speed sensor or torque converter lock-up solenoid fault. The lock-up solenoid can be accessed while the trans pan is off for the filter service

Wht could be the problem with

Routine in that check lights have been on all
vehicles for some 31 years now ?

Yes there is a real problem when an OBD2 system
check light comes on & you should have had it checked
for codes already & either given them to us,looked them
up on the internet or had a repair shop determine if you
should even be using the car until diagnosed & repaired

Oil changes are due when you decide to do them, nothing
else involved there

I wouldn't go over 4,000 miles, that would be changing your
oil 4 to 5 times a year

If you have an owners manual, the question may be somewhat answered in there

Malfunction light came on..something about catalytic convertor?

this would mean the converter is not cleaning the exhuast good, the good part of this is that it should be covered under the federal emmission warranty through your local dealer, all emission components are covered for 8yrs or 80,000 miles. unless you have more than 80,000 miles then you would pay. also have this checked by a tech this could be due to a bad airfuel sensor or o2 sensor, if one of these sensors are giving a false reading to the computer it will assume the cat converter is bad. i have run into this more times than not. good day.

HI I have light service engine soon I conect a code reader P0430 catalytic converter sistem efficincy below threshold (back2)

The catalytic converter is not working as well as it should be, this code will not affect they way the truck runs, just means it is polluting more than it should be. Converters are covered under a 8 yr 80,000 mile federal emissions warranty, if you have less than 80,000 miles, contact yoru dealer and they should replace them under warranty. Otherwise, you can replace it with an aftermarket one for less money, but most likely the code will return, due to the aftermarket ones usually not being as good as the factory ones.

What is the recommended milage for a timing belt change on a 2004 Audi A6?

Hi

Audi recently increased the service interval on these belts from 60,000 to 80,000 miles. You cannot do a timing belt inspection - you must replace it at the specified interval due to the fact that a belt may look good but can still fail due to undetectable stressors in the belt itself when it reaches this mileage.

You do not say which engine variant you have in your car but 80,000 is now the general belt interval that is specified.

Hope this helps.

When should I service the automatic transmission

First serviced should of been 30,000 due to the break in period to remove any metal shaving then 80,000 to 100,000 after that depends on your driving condition. Hope this helps friend.
