SOURCE: AC/Heater control problem

In the dash there is a part called the blend door and blend door motor. This allows you to have warm air, and not just cold AC or hot heated air. This motor goes out and whatever position it "dies" in is what kind of air you get. The part is relatitively cheap but the labor cost is huge, because the dash needs to be removed for access.

SOURCE: I'm trying to remove the

You'll need to remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. If needed, you can pull back the weather seal (can't reuse it, but it's not that important) and you will be able to access everything inside the door

You will need a diagnostic device to reset or erase this fault.

The compressor will only inflate once or twice and only within a half hour of the ignition being turned off. If the bags deflate over night there is a leak in the bag and will probably need to be replaced. If you get under the car and take a look at them you will likely see deep cracks in them, specifically around where they fold.

Air conditioner blows heat, conditioner was charged, freon, checked relay switch, fuse, door blend alol fine still hot air, was told maybe a block in V shape hose is it temp control value Help

Only way to tell if A/C Evaporator Core Orifice tube is plugged is by looking at A/C gauge readings , An if it is plugged you more then likely need a new compressor , they become plugged with metal particles from worn out compressor. Your best bet would be to take your vehicle to a qualified repair shop .

My lincoln mark lt pickup won't blow cool air

My lincoln had the same issue, first it was the A/C compressor (original). I replaced it with another one (used) and worked for 1 month. Then back to hot air. "A/C experts" told me the compressor was out again. I took it to a Mexican auto shop, old building where the guy works alone and to my surprise...HE FOUND THE PROBLEM!! There was no freon leaks, the lines were freezing cold inside the motor, checked freon>>full. He then checked the filter. This filter is on the end of the line where it is crimped that allows the freon to flow thru. Im no mechanic so explaining what it is, forgive me. I can only show you...the line is silver ad in front of you by the radiator, and its the same tube that goes to where you plug it to add freon. There is a filter that was clogged up and prevented the freon from flowing. He removed all the freon, vacuumed out the system/line, and replaced the filter for less that $3.00. Added freon and his cost was $80.00. Thank God for honest people who work hard for a living. I buy the parts, he replaces and I continue to give him my business. Other expensive auto shops with fancy buildings/prices My Lincoln Mark LT now blows arctic cold air!!!

Air Conditioner Not Functioning

It may still be low on freon. It can hold several cans.
High side should be around 250psi and low around 35 or 45psi at idle if system is charged.
If you raise engine speed the low can drop below 20psi and switch off the compressor if the system is low on freon.
Could be a restriction in the system, bad relay, or bad a/c compressor-clutch.

Ac on my lincoln zephyr 2006 air is not cooling.

Hi Nickolas, Im glad to help!

When an A/C system is cycling more then usual it generally means it is low on Freon or you have a cycling switch problem. Call me Al 314-374-5218. The A/C system only needs to see a pressure of around 75 PSI to turn on the compressor but that's not enough to cool the vehicle. Hope this helps and have an awesome day Nickolas.

How do i put freon in my 2006 lincoln zephyr?

best bet is to verify thats your problem first. Have a shop check it for you. If it doesnt need freon and you add some you will create other issues. Also if you actually lost freon on a car this new then you have a leak somewhere. Anything you do will just cause more freon to leak into the atmosphere which is a major no no in the Automobile industry. If we released freon we would loose our licence.

My 2006 Colorado A/C runs , starts to blow cold then blows hot , then starts to blow cold then hot..........., finally after the engine gets real warm it just stays hot . I checke the freon level and it is...

Same problem on 2005 Colorado at work. A little research finds that this is a 'gas saving' system. It is designed to cycle often, resulting in less UP time on the compressor, which saves fuel.
HORRIBLE system!
We are going to refill the freon to exact specs and see how the gauges read.
Currently, when compressor is running, a nice cool temp is achieved. But while the compressor is off, the air gets a bit warm. it's 112 out today and this is unsatisfactory.
I found a forum which describes installing a resistor at a certain wire connection in the a/c module. This causes the clutch to engage for longer periods of time. apparently the only real fix at the moment.
I don't have that forum link with me.... so do a bit more research to find it.
