SOURCE: driver window will roll down but the passenger and rear wont

The first thing that I would do is check for electricty at the motors them sel and work your way back.If there is elec. at the window motor it's self susspect a motor problem.Remove the motor to see if it spins (but it dosen't me its good it could be week)next check for binding in the window mecanism.

SOURCE: Driver's window

I have the same problem, its more than likely a sticking motor. I just punch the door panel below the window switch (where the motor is) and it works. You may have to bang it a few times but i have to do it about once a week on the front right or my car.

SOURCE: Power windows wont roll down

It could be the fuse to the power windows. Check the fuse box . it is on either side of the dash just inside the door. or near the glove box. Look for any burnt fuses and replace them with the same amp fuse. The same color.There is a fuse remover in the fuse box. You use that to remove the fuses by grabbing the fuse with the edge of the tool. And pulling the fuse out.

Replaced battery, now auto windows wont come up auto automatically

If on a GM car the battery has been disconnect the windows may need to be reprogrammed
The following steps explain how to program the side door window regulator motors:

  1. Press and hold the power window switch until the window is fully DOWN. Continue holding the power window switch for approximately 3 seconds.

  2. Press and hold the power window switch until the window is fully UP. Continue holding the power window switch for approximately 3 seconds.

  3. The power window regulator motor is now programmed for the express function.

  4. Repeat this process for all of the power windows.

My window on front passenger side will not roll down.they are electric

What make , model an year vehicle ? The first thing is check the fuses , are any burnt ? Newer vehicles windows are controlled by an electronic module of some kind , Door module , BCM - body control modules GM , SJB - smart junction box ford ! So the make of vehicle is very important in finding out what controls them . Do you hear the window motor running when pushing the switch ? Check for power at that windows switch . Window regulators fail as do the motor's !

Driver's window

The wiring diagrams for your 2003 GMC Sierra power window circuits are copyrighted material and cannot be posted here. However, I can describe the driver's power window circuit to you.

Battery voltage is provided to the driver's window (master) switch via the ORANGE wire at PIn #2 on the switch connector which comes from the 25 Amp Left Window Circuit breaker located in the fuse block on the left side of the dash.

There is a logic module located inside of the master switch which controls the "Auto Down" feature for the driver's window. When the switch is operated in either the "UP" or "DOWN" position, power and ground is supplied to the window lift motor via the BROWN wire (Pin #1, Connector 2) and the DARK BLUE wire (Pin #3, Connector 2) Thease wires will switch polarity dependin on whether the switch is commanding UP or DOWN.

The schematics show that the ground circuit for the driver's window motor is supplied internally by the driver's window switch module. It is most likely grounded inside the door panel itself - the schematics do not specify. To check for ground, you can test continuity to ground on BOTH the BROWN and the BLUE wires by back-probing them with the switch electrical connector plugged in and the window control switch in the NEUTRAL position. They should both have ground.

When the switch is operated, one will remain ground while the other switches to power.

Hello hoping 2 find some help.. i have a 2003 lexus gs 300. i took it to an auto body shop 2 get a custom paint job but wene i got it back my rear windows were rolled down. i didnt pay any mind 2 it cause...

I assume they all (windows)have automatic feature(should say on master switch ALL AUTO) , two clickes on each switch.First click for manual rolling , second click for auto rolling.
If that so , you can try to reset them :
Put the ignition on or start the car , close all doors ,
roll window up on first click and hold it for 10 sec. , then go down and do the same when window is down. If it doesn't work with the first click , try it on the second click. Roll it up and hold switch for 10sec.
, then down and hold switch down for 10 sec.
This procedure will not work if you only have auto on driver window.
Hope it helps.

Sounds like you may have a ground problem , or a BCM - body control module , or serial data network issues . Do you have knowledge of wiring diagrams an using a DVOM - digital volt ohm meter to test electrical circuit's ? Do you know anything about automotive electronic control modules , class 2 data network's?
2003 chevy duramax ??? What model , silverado , suburban What ??? Looking at wiring diagrams for silverado HD 2500 , i see these vehicles also have module's inside the doors . Free wiring diagram's here http://www.bbbind.com/free_tsb.html
Enter vehicle info . year , make , model an engine size. Under system click on body & accessories ,then under subsystem click power window's . Click the search button then the blue link . With a problem like this your first step should be to hook up a GM tech 2 scan tool or equivalent ! These are the only ones that can check for communication problems an DTC'S - diagnostic trouble code's in all the modules on the vehicle .

I have the exact same problem on a Jeep Grand Cherokee 2004. The rear passenger window rolls down only from the rear passenger window and won't go up or down from the front. It has to be in the wiring because the problem was intermittent initially and a new window motor does the exact same thing. If you figured it out or have the wiring diagram please let me know.

Front windows don't roll down

Yes, the power window switch is often faulty, because there is some sensitive electronic making that "auto rolled down".
The 4x-switch is quite expensive, 260EUR =(
So, I make some new connection. The faulty electronic is only for front windows, so now I connect wires so that I can use front windows with read window switch.
(Rear windows is still working by those 2xback window switch) which is located between seats.

Here is the conncection, at one's own risk.

That 4x-window switch has 14-pins connector:
Connect the back windows wires 8(blue/white), 9(red/black), 1 (grey/blac ), 2 t(green/white) to the ground wire 4 (black).

Front windows wires
14(blue)->8
13(white)->9
3(white/violet)->2
7(black/blue)->1

If the manufacturer didn't use that "auto rolled down" function, there is no worries of power windows.

Also illumination of 4x-switch goes down quite soon, leds will be better. Here is a photo if you like replace bulbs to leds:

Windows will not operate on my 2003 Ford Explorer Sport Trac

window relay module probably went bad. theres a window relay under the dash you have power . try getting a wiring diagram mabey at an auto parts store or the library. so you can trace the problem down . short of taking the doors apart and checking the motors that drive the windows . Old fix with the old school cars bang on the doors from the inside with fist . it sometimes works the connections on the old school cars . Its stupid but it worked to get the window up .
