Question about 1995 Volkswagen Jetta

Open Question

Brand new V W Polo 1.4 - November 2009 59reg - Black Metalic paintwork flaking off windscreen end of drivers side edge of bonnet. Dealership contacted V W, who issued an internal directive saying owners should be advised to move wiper arms to the "service position" before opening the bonnet to prevent bonnet paintwork being chipped off by drivers wiper blade arm. Rubbish V W, as wiper blade arm on drivers side never gets anywhere near edge of bonnet when lifting to open bonnet position, or if closed. However, if wiper blade is lifted with bonnet closed, then wiper arm does come into contact with bonnet edge, but in our case the driver side bonnet flaking is away from this contact point. Our paintwork problem started with a very small amount of painwork flaking off, but has increased to approx 15mm (1/2 inch) with driving & road vibration. Our car has only covered approx 1,500 miles to date. V W deneigh it is anything to do with then or with their manufacturing process, and therefore, is not covered under their warrenty. Finally, as there are signs of "touched up" paintwork in 3 seperate areas along the edges of our bonnet, namely, the one where the paint is now flaking off, a 2nd at approx same distance from the nearside end of windscreen end edge of bonnet, & a 3rd on centre front edge of bonnet middle, where sculptured out to take the V W grill badge, Therefore, we conclude that there is in deed a manufacturing problem at V W, possibly where bonnets are being lifted into position by machine during assembly & then being "touched up" during factory final inspection. All readers of new V W cars are therefore advised to run their index finger along windscreen end edge of their bonnets looking for signs of "touch up" roughnes of paintwork, any imperfections, and possible signs of paintwork flaking. Early detection is essential. In closing, we have walked along the forecourt of our local V W Dealership here in Leamington Spa and have found a couple of examples of this "touched up" edge to bonnet paintwork problem on new unregistered cars, namely a Fox & a Golf. Please send any feedback which may assist us with our warrenty claim to - or call me on 07825 382428. We intend to continue to communicate our concerns with V W in UK, so please help to support our case. V W case number 06010350 refers. Thank you. SOURCE: 1998 VW Passat hood lever location inside vehicle

If you can not see the This leaver with a few good glances looking under your dash... Then it may not be there.. May be broken off..
Or If that lever that does not move, You may have to get someone to push down on the hood to take the load off the latch mechanism As you pull the leaver ..
If these do not work.. go for a drive to the nearest dealer and ask.!!

SOURCE: renault clio bonnet wont open

Get a second person to pull bonnet catch and you push up and down on the bonnet whilst catch is being pulled. 1, cable possibly stretched, 2, look at bonnet catch under the coloum to see if wire is attached, 3, try and lie under car and look up the back of the bulkhead to see the catch and release it manually. Hope that helps.

I cant find my glow plug relay on my kia sorento 2003 WA03SKX

Its in the bonnet, on the right hand side (facing the front of the car) towards the windscreen under a black cover with 2 clips. It's removable and easily replaced. I find it unlikely that it needs replacing however. A more likely reason is the fuse for the glow plugs which is in the driver side footwell. (On a right hand drive car). The car book which came with the car details where all these items are.

2003 Audi A6 1.9 tdi: where do I find the onboard computer?

It will be in the plenum area (between windscreen and firewall under bonnet (hood)).
Look for a black plastic box held down by several screws.
On my A4 (1997) it was on the drivers side. On my S8 (2001) it's on the passenger side. A6 I don't know, but it will be obvious.

Air noise coming from under bonnet audi a8 d2

Sound is completely normal on all Audi's.
Your A8 uses an Orifice tube to regulate the pressure between the two halves of your air conditioning system. A hissing sound is normal after a shut down as the system equalises. Usually lasts about a minute and is more noticeable on warmer days.
Location on an A8 is on the very right hand side of the bonnet just under the windscreen - that's where the hissing will be coming from.

Fuse box location mitsubishi 380 2005

the first internal fuse box on a Australian 380 Mitsubishi is located on the drivers right side end of the dash.

open the drivers side door and on the right end of the dash, you will see a panel that sits flush on the end of the dash.

pry the panel open with your fingers or a tool, it opens up to the right, there are relays and fuses in there for the cars different functions.

the 2nd fuse box is located under the hood/bonnet on the Australian 380 model.

if you are in front of the car looking at the windscreen it is located on the right side in a black box near the suspension tower.

the top pops off and relays and fuses are in there.

both fuses boxes have the wiring diagrams under the lids so you can identify which fuse operates which function

to match the fuses to the diagram, start from one end first and check the amps for that fuse then the next one in the same row and then the next one.

after that you should be able match the fuses to the diagram, if the fuses dont match the diagram from that end, then start at the other end and do the same thing.

i hope this helps

Water leak in front passenger side water leaks from heater box area and runs underneath front carpet whenever it rains or when car is washed

you possibly have a leaky windshield. Try turning the heater blower on high , close all the windows and doors and get a squirt bottle with a soapy solution and start squirting it around the windshield edge and see if you get any bubbles from where you squirted the soapy solution. if you do WAH LAH you found where the water is coming in from.

Water coming in drivers mat area 2006 vw passat 2.0 tdi

Common fault with VW's firstly check the door seal at the bottom and make sure it is not wet inside.

Next place is under the bonnet, just under the windscreen below the wipers you will see a long tray the "skuttle panel" leafs and muck build up in here where the drain plugs are once they get blocked the water starts coming in the car from behind the dash board. You should be able to see the problem visibly and it should be easy to clean.

I had this on a golf about 2mths ago, and a polo a while ago and also on a few passats.

Can find the Vin on Land Rover Discovery

Your VIN should be located at the bottom of the windshield on a plate fitted to the dash on the driver's side of your vehicle. You would view it from the outside of the vehicle. The VIN should also be fitted to a identification tag on the bottom edge of the door inside or on the door jam.

Problems with the car

Lots of rattles, which is surprising! Doors flexed over bumps, steering wheel creaks on low speed car park type turns, door trim gives off low amplitude noises from time to time. Paintwork defects on delivery - rear bumper dimpled, dirt in clear coat. Paint defects in use - one of the front fog light cut outs has flaking paint and the hatch is streaked after washer fluid ran down it from use several times. Driver's dash vent came adrift at one corner.
