Where is the location of the oil sending unit on a 1999 Dodge Durango 5.2

Top Front of the engine.

2 posible places. above the oil filter or in the back of the intake manifold.

some are around the oil filter and some are on the front of the engine

You could have either a bad gauge or bad oil pressure sending unit. I would start with the sending unit, it is cheaper and easier to replace.

inside the engine take the oil pan off it is right there

look by the oil filter on the right side of the engine, easy to see with right front tire off.

The first thing I would check is the wiring to the oil pressure sending unit. It is most likely located in the oil filter mount or somewhere in that area. Chances are, the small wiring harness may have been bumped loose or cracked recently when the oil was changed. It all looks well with the wiring, consider changing the sending unit. Hope this helps!
