1999 dodge durango "check guages" keeps coming on and oil monitor goes to zero when standing still. I checked the oil yesterday when it first happened and needed to add 2 qts. Oil guage still going to...

You could have either a bad gauge or bad oil pressure sending unit. I would start with the sending unit, it is cheaper and easier to replace.

Oil pressure gage drops unexpectedly and fips back up. Has had a recent oil change.

The first thing I would check is the wiring to the oil pressure sending unit. It is most likely located in the oil filter mount or somewhere in that area. Chances are, the small wiring harness may have been bumped loose or cracked recently when the oil was changed. It all looks well with the wiring, consider changing the sending unit. Hope this helps!
